    APRIL 6th

Definitely don't compare yourself to others. Everyone is different. I had my 1 week pre-op appointment today. I'm on protein shakes for 2 weeks. We'll see how this phase goes. Hope you are doing well.

    APRIL 6th

I'm getting very depressed. I'm not doing well with the no eating at all. I really pray this is the most difficult part of my journey.

    APRIL 6th

No I'm not on Instagram. I'm glad you are feeling good. I've been home since Wednesday and my challenge is I have to do 1 week of thin clear liquids. Very difficult. My post-op appointment is Tuesday when I start back on protein shakes. Can't wait. Seems like instructions vary from doc to doc. I am also lactose intolerant. Have you tried mixing protein powder with soy, almond or cashew milk? Soy milk works for me.

More than... How are you doing? Are you home?
  5. Which surgery did you have? Best of luck to you, and it was very kind of that woman to give positive feedback. I was sleeved on Monday.

    African American vsgers!

Post-op day 3. I don't think I've lost anything and the thin liquids phase is difficult. But I will hang in and make this work. Please tell me it gets better!!

    Any April Sleevers?

April 6 for me!! 6 days to go!! I started pre-op diet on March 10, but wasn't required to start until March 23. I'm down 15 lbs. Pre-op has mostly been good but there have definitely been days when I felt hungry, angry and frustrated. But I haven't given up. Now I'm counting down!

    APRIL 6th

I'm also having surgery on April 6!!!!! I'm not terrified, but I am excitedly nervous! I wish us both well!!!
  9. I'm following this post as well. My surgery isn't until April 6, but I want to aclimate myself to the process so I'm doing a pre-op pretrial. I started on Tuesday. I'm doing unjury Protein powder with either skim milk or soy milk. My pre-op plan allows a salad for lunch and I've exercised that option each day. This morning I feel REALLY hungry and have had 2 shakes already (one at 7:30AM, one at 10:00AM). That can't be good, right? I'm worried about the weekend. Being at work I don't really think about eating. Not sure how that will work on Saturday and Sunday. Any advice shared is appreciated.
  10. I ordered the powders unjury sample packet which includes 2 to go packs of each of the flavors they have. So far I've had vanilla and chocolate spledor. Both were really good.

    Post Op and Loving IT!

Christie, you are such an encouragement. I'm an so worried about having to do the pre-op liquid only diet. I don't know how much a food addict I am, but I know one thing for sure. I DO NOT like feeling hungry!! I'm also not a vegetable eater. I anticipate a bumpy road. BUT I like your suggestion that to not cheat myself out of this surgery and to do some journaling when I begin to feel discouraged. Sound advice. I will use it as well. Thanks!!

    Two weeks post op!

Thank you for the encouragement. I am really excited, but also a little nervous. I haven't shared with many people that I am embarking on this journey. People are very judgmental and at the mere suggestion of this procedure I got some negative feedback. I don't understand why people think surgery is the "easy way out." I think it's anything but "easy." Anyway, I initially had a surgery date for March, but my insurance is very strict about fulfilling the 180 day pre-op waiting period. Therefore, my surgerday had to be pushed back to April 6. Like you said, the time will go by quickly. It's already the end of January!! I hope things are continuing to go well for you. Have a great day!!!

    Two weeks post op!

I am new to this forum and a little more than 3 months away from my surgery date. I am encouraged by your story. So, 2 weeks out and you are already back on solid food? Keep up the good work!
