Well I am two days from having my surgery (GS) and I am nervous, excited etc... I am so tired of chicken, beef broth, I don't do vegetable broth don't like the taste, are there any others out there that I don't know about. Oh yea, I also get Won Ton soup without the won ton and Pho.
Was wondering about bone broth. Has anyone tried it?
Any and all suggestions are helpful.
Thanks!
Yea I feel you on this pre op road! I have wanted to cheat but I tell myself that if I cheat now I will cheat post op and I don't want the problems that come with that.
It was suggested to me to write a goodbye letter to my favorite foods (which is plenty) but my biggest down fall is Crackling and Boudian balls. So sometime between now and the 14th I will be writing that letter. Good luck and WE can do this!!
Hello all! I just started my pre op diet 5 days ago. Today was the first time I have gone grocery shopping for my family. I HATED IT!!! It is just me and hubby and he eats all the cookies, cakes, chips (what I call the 3 C's) he wants to without gaining an ounce! We were in the store and for some reason I saw all these new kind of chips (one of my vices) that I would have normally tried. I got so angry that I almost started to cry! I worked through it but man this may be harder than I thought. While I was still eating (the right foods) I didn't have any problem with going to the supermarket. IJDK! I really didin't like that feeling!
Be safe and love yourself! :)
Are you talking about the protein shakes? If so, I have not seen any unflavored one's but the one's that I am using for my 2 week pre op are flavored Strawberry shortcake and Cinommin bun. The are made by Bariatric Fusion and they are pretty good, I mix them with unsweetened Almond milk.
Hello,Djay from TX here. I am still waiting on my date and getting more nervous by the day. I am hoping that I get a late March mid April date.

Thanks ProjectMe for the encourgaing words. I know I am all in my head trying to talk myself out of this when I know it is the best for me. The other hard thing I am finding is to take smaller bites of my food. Some days I do really well and others I can actually "see" myself taking bigger bites.
So much to learn but I know I can do this. CowgirlJane, I have tried so many times to lose weight on my own and always wind up gainning it all back and then some. So yeah, I'm ready for the permanent.
Hello, I am on my last 2 visits with the nutrionist and I am starting to wonder if I can do the pre op 2 week protein shake prep. I am so nervous. I have already lost 40lbs. just by doing what the nutritionist has suggested. So now I am second guessing myself. Has anyone else felt this way close to surgery?
Thanks
Djay
