  1. I just had my surgery done on May 9th, 2016. Three days out now. I am not feeling too bad... a little sore... a little nauseated on and off, but better than I thought I would.
  2. Hi Cindy, I sent you a request on facebook!
  3. you are quite a distance from me... I am down in Salem County. I don't know where your meetings would be... sorry
  4. where in Central Jersey are you?
  5. I just got my surgery approved and scheduled for May 9th! Can't wait
  6. Hi there,I am in Salem County also I will be having mine done in Vineland with the Dr. Iqbal. I am also in Salem County and went with Dr Goldstein in Cherry Hill..I absolutely love him everything went great and he uses glue to seal the incisions. My scars are healing great and I'm only 8 days post op!! I am so happy for you! Hope you continue doing great!
  7. I am in South Jersey, and to my knowledge, there isn't a group yet. but I think that sounds like a great idea!

  9. Well, I did lose another 9 lbs...my surgeon is sending me to a liver specialist. He said the two of them wold work together and when that Dr. says it is safe...he will do the sleeve. So hopefully I can get this done one day. Thanks everyone for the well wishes.
  10. I go back to see my surgeon today, would have been my 3 week followup, still kind of is, since he did open me up and I am still healing from that. I will hopefully find out today if he is willing to do the sleeve on me, since the RNY fell through... fingers crossed!
  11. If you are having trouble getting in your protein then you don't want to stop with the protein shakes.. Shoot my mom is 10 years out from having the surgery and still has a protein shake once a day to help her get in the protein that she needs. I would definitely call your nut and see what they suggest.
  12. prayers for Ron! I hope he is doing better
  13. Well, I had surgery on the 12th but when the dr cut into me, he seen my liver didn't look right, so he took a biopsy of it and my gall bladder and my spleen and my intestines. Long story short...they found that I have non alcoholic fatty liver sirrosis.. stage 3. The dr said doing a bypass would have killed me... but I can get the sleeve done. the only thing that will help my liver is to lose weight or I will have to have a transplant. So, I go back to my surgeon on the 20th and I am hoping we can get right on to the sleeve, and not let any more time pass.

  15. my 2 week pre-op diet is only 1 shake for Breakfast, 1 shake for lunch, then I can have a 300 cal dinner, 3 oz of meat, like chicken or fish, a salad with only 1TB of light dressing or a light yogurt or a small piece of fruit, Seems like you all are able to eat more than I can, but in just these almost 2 weeks, I have lost 21 lbs. Good Luck!
  16. I didn't have to have an upper GI, my Dr. did an EGD, where they take a small camera down your esophagus and look around. It was super easy.
  17. Seen my surgeon today, and had lost another 2 lbs, in just 2 days!
  18. Good Luck to all the October Surgeries! My prayers are with us all
  19. I just got home from seeing my PCP for that last visit before surgery, and my BP was 116/68, my sugar was 96, and I lost another 5 lbs since last Tuesday! I am even walking now without my cane, and without a limp!! Feels great! Just shows me that the more I lose, the better and better I am going to feel! Surgery's on Monday and I can't wait!
  20. I have had diverticulitis before, and actually they put me on a liquid diet because the Dr. said it helps the digestive system heal faster. Good Luck!
  21. Thank you so much for making the list!
