I DID IT! I DID IT!

Totally awesome! Like yourself I couldn't wait to "lose" the weight. My biggest hurdle and excitement was when my scale said 199. lbs because I couldn't wait to finally be under 200 pounds last year. Congrats and keep doing what your doing and that staying healthy! ????

Monday, March 9th is the day!

One of the most "important" decisions is what I meant to say ????.

Monday, March 9th is the day!

best wishes all, it will for sure be one of plosive decisions you'd ever make in your life. I am post 14 mths and I lost a total of 117 lbs, from 262 to now 145 lbs, and I'm still adjusting to my new body. Sometimes it's kind of strange to wrap my brain around the fact that I'm thinner but I heard it could take some people to get "use" to their new thinner body, it's like sometimes it's hard to believe or see that I'm not overweight anymore lol. But all my friends call me skinny, which is hard for me to comprehend, especially if you were overweight most if your adult life. Good luck to all of you that will have there procedure this month and a speedy recovery to all of you!

    Soft foods/weight gain?

What procedure did you have done?

    1 year Surgiversary!

Thank you so much for that information, doctors always have different information than other doctors. I know my surgery is still new (13 mths) but I thought you could stretch your pouch after a year per on of the doc's at the group I go to. I do however need to slow down my in chewing time lol, I'm still not good at that. When I got my surgery my husband said that I should have a goal weight, but I didn't set one because I just wanted to get below 200 lbs. I know goals are important but I never wanted one, maybe because I didn't want the pressure or to fail. But now that my weigh is stable, I want to lose 15 more lbs. I'm 5'6 and 153 lbs and I'd like to be maybe 135-140. My friends already think I'm skinny and I don't see it the way they see me. Maybe I should just focus on staying healthy yes?

    Newbie

Hi Kim, don't regret a very important decision that you weren't ready for. But at least you know for sure now and that you are physically and mentally prepared for the procedure. I know Kaiser is excellent insurance and they will cover your surgery. The waiting part suck's lol, but before you know it, it will be over and done and your anxiety will be gone, and the weight will drop every week like mine and most everyone else's has. Keep us posted of your progress please, support as you can see is very important from the beginning to goal!
  19. Im not going to lie to you about the sagging skin issues. Yes we are woman and we hate the excess skin before surgery and we are going to be very self conscious with the hanging skin lol. At least for me I hate my arms, which can flap like I'm going to fly, but honestly I don't dwell on it or it will steal my joy of losing over 100 lbs. People always tell me so what your skinny now you look great, so I try my best to feel blessed and not focus on the stupid hanging skin which I'm the only on absencing about.

    Not fun

Good for you Jess, we are all here to help support each other and without this group I'd be lost. Hate drinking my protein shakes but I know if I don't, I'll be in big trouble lol. Keep up the good work everyone and we must (try) stay positive.

    1 year Surgiversary!

Qweenfreak, Like you I also have that fear. I hate that I can eat chocolate or other sweet things and not feel sick. I also despite losing over 100 lbs never mastered the "take a small bite every 5 mins" rule. Ugggg, I'm so afraid of stretching out my pouch because I can eat more than I use to, after 13 mths my weight had been stable fluctuating 2 to 4 lbs off and on. I know I have to go back to basics before it's really to late. And people think this procedure is or was the easy way to lose weight. I tell them they are ALL tools to help us but it comes with rules to maintain and keep the weight off.
