  1. I would like to update my weight and surgery weight that shows up next to our comments. I thought I would be able to do it under edit profile but I don't see a way to edit that section.

    Day 1 of liquid diet

Well, I didn't have a schedule, I just had my protein shakes. I started my day with a Premier shake but not anymore I have my own Whey protein because its cheaper to mix it in a shaker cup. But your stomach will dictate your schedule for you. When you are hungry put more fluid in. How many shakes did they say you could have a day. 2 or 3? Are they allowing you the sugar free pops? If they are girl go get some! No sugar added is fine too. They have some called Price saver sugar free twin pops at Walmart that I ate all the time. It helps to have something to eat and not just drink. Have plenty on hand all the time. Its been a lifesaver to me even now after surgery. My surgery was 12/12/17. I had to go through my birthday, wedding anniversary and Christmas on a liquid diet. You can do this! If I can anyone can. It does suck but keep it in mind that you are in need of the surgery not a good meal. Be strong! Don't let your cravings sabotage your journey to success!

    Day 1 of liquid diet

To all of you on your liquid diet or starting it soon...this will be the hardest thing you are having to do because we aren't used to it. But after a couple days you will feel better! Remember to have your broth when feeling tired and little strength because the salt is important. Just go easy on the broth if you have high blood pressure. I thought I couldn't do the liquid stage but if you want the surgery it is extremely important to shrink the liver. Most Obese or Morbidly Obese people have fatty liver which makes it difficult to perform the surgery. I have heard that some doctors will not do the surgery if they look inside at the beginning of surgery and you didn't do the liquid diet. It feels like hell now because your stomach is still big and hungry. After surgery you won't want even broth at first. The only thing I wanted was ice chips and sugar free popsicles. Good Luck! Hang in there!

    No caffeine? Ever?

Hot tea has more caffeine than coffee, doesn't it?
  5. I believe it is illegal to share any medical info per the HiPPA laws. Short term disability is with a company separate from your work company. That's how it was when I was an HR manager. The insurance company will be the one that receives your information. You should have a number for them. Also, if you have to show your HR manager they are supposed to keep that information confidential. Good Luck!

    No caffeine? Ever?

They all tell you that but my surgeon said I can have 12 oz of coffee a day. The rest of the day I go decaf for the most part. The problem is with dehydration with caffeine. Also I think coffee can be a cause of ulcers for our smaller tummy.

    Late December Sleevers?

I just got released to regular food yesterday but I was going through liquid stage during the holidays. No fun at all to be having turkey broth while everyone else is eating the turkey and stuffing! I have 4 boys that came in from college so I didn't want to make them suffer without their favorites so I cooked the whole time they were home. They kept encouraging me when I felt like I wasn't a part of the meal by telling me how I was because I made it. I also sat with my soup at the table. It puts your head in the right place though because you realize how you viewed food being the most important thing about getting together but I made it through. I am 235 and I was 256 the day of surgery. I was 276 when I had my first appointment with my surgeon. The way I already feel is amazing! My clothes are falling off me and I am wearing things that were too tight, like jeans! Hang in there! You can do this! I promise you every step gets better and better! I just joined the gym yesterday! Moving forward with life!

    Late December Sleevers?

I had my Sleeve surgery on 12/12 and I feel like my depression has been lifted some, the thought that I'm losing weight and I might end up feeling like a completely different person is exciting! I do still worry about my success but I'm just in the beginning stages of this process. I go to my follow up appointment tomorrow! Looking forward to being released to exercise with weights!
