1. I would ban them for life from driving. That's after the ten year jail term. They are all trash. Why should I have to put up with them?
2. A poll to see what we use to access this and other websites. Not trying to say which is best - we all have our favourites - just to get a snapshot. You can vote for more than one browser.
3. I have MS Flight Simulator 2004 and was wondering if any lapbanders wanted to fly togther with me over the Internet? If you're not sure how to, just let me know and I'll show you. It's great fun!!:wink2:
4. The latest before and after. 93 pounds between them. Before = November 2007 After = May 28th 2008
5. Has anyone tried these products? food And Exercise Diary for Windows | Calorie Counter | Food Diary Weightmania - Fitness, Diet, Workout and Nutrition Software Diet Software for Healthy Weight Loss - Stay Motivated FitDay - Free Weight Loss and Diet Journal If so, what do you think - do they help?
6. Hi all, I was banded at BMI 41.2 and am now at BMI 28.6. Ive just had my second operation to have the port and tube replaced. I'm finding that my weightloss goes like the dance - slow, slow, quick, quick, slow. But overall, everything is fine and I feel so much better.
7. Does anyone use CAWL (Computer Aided Weight Loss) software? In other words, does your computer help you lose weight in some way? I use Excel to create a spreadsheet about my weightloss. It can be seen at my blog. I'd like to be more creative though. Any ideas?
8. Nothing to worry about - people have operations all over the world perfectly safely. Being put to sleep can seem a bit scarey, but really it's a breeze. Be prepared to feel sore after the operation. That can take a few days to get rid of. Your body will repair itself in a remarkable manner. I had my latest operation last Friday 23rd May and I was home the next day. You'll be fine. Good luck with the operation.
9. I use a variety of Open Source programs - Open Office, Gimp, Audacity, VLC Media Player etc. I find them to be excellent and in some cases better than their commercial rivals. Do you use any?
10. SP3 is getting a bad name due to installation issues with some systems. Mine went fine. If you have had a problem, post it here and we'll see if we can help.
11. The NHS (in the UK) are paying for it. I had the second operation yesterday. The port has been replaced and resited and the tube (which had completely come away from the port) has also been replaced. I also had 3ml in the band (which was fine). My chest looks like the sky full of con trails from the planes with the amount of wound scars, but that'll be a small price to pay for the band to finally work.
12. Yeh go for it. BTW, Bon Jovi aren't playing anywhere on 26 June according to their website.....
13. I'm going for my second operation this Friday 23rd May. This is to replace the tube between band and port, which we know is leaking, but the surgeon also wants to 'have a look around' and see if the band and port needs replacing. I've lost very nearly 90 pounds without the aid of a fill, and it will be 27 weeks on Wednesday since my first operation. I'm almost tempted to ask why do I need the operation again if I've lost that weight. I'm 70% to target weight and I think I could achieve target over the next five to six months. In theory, I should lose faster with a 'working' band - is that right?
14. How did your pre-op go? Pretty straightforward stuff? I go in for my second operation at Derby on Friday 23rd. The tube between the port and band is leaking and they are going to do an 'exploratory' operation to see if there is any other damage to the port and band. If there is, they will replace the parts. I'm not looking forward to the operation, but at least I'm in better shape now than for the first one. Good luck with your operation, I'm sure it will go well.
15. Oh you can swear. The last resort of the feeble minded. Moderators - can you get rid of this foul mouthed member?
16. I think you ought to read the posts properly. I asked R. to name a hospital on the back of another statement.
17. Where did I say that? Are you a mindreader now? (I said that with a smile on my face in a non-aggressive posture). I have no patience with people who slam the NHS without recognising the efforts being made, and then thinking anywhere else is any better.
18. Them name them. Which hospitals? Go on, name just one. You won't though. How do you know? Hearsay, rumour or recorded fact?
19. Here are images taken on 16 November 2007 and the present 21 April 2008. 84 pounds between them. I'm now not obese, just overweight.
20. That's a great effort Sue - really well done.
21. I guess we all record our weight loss in different ways. I use a spreadsheet to keep a record of how many pounds etc. You can view it and download it at my blog Visions Of Summer How do you do yours?
22. I'm sorry to hear about your situation. When I went for my first fill, my tube was seen to be broken/split/damaged in some way, and it looks as if I'll need further surgery too to replace the tube. I'm told this is a simple enough procedure, but it's very frustrating. I don't think it's a common situation. However, that's no great consolation when it happens to be you that has to have further surgery. Take care and I'm sure all will turn out fine in the end.
23. Believe me, I'm really not interested in your private life - did I say I was? As for anal views (which were they BTW?), your 'lurgies' statement is offensive to all those people in the NHS who are working like crazy to ensure that people have a comfortable, safe and good experience.
24. WestCoastFatGuy is right - you've lost lots of weight. Celebrate that. I have found what helps me is to have other interests that means I don't have my weight loss dominating my thoughts. An example is I'm studying for Microsoft Server qualifications which takes a lot of my mental energy. I also have the support of my family which has been essential to keep me on track sometimes. My weight loss is just another aspect to my life. Perhaps you could find a new interest that takes your mind off weight loss? Forgive me if you don't find that useful, just passing on what's helped me.
25. Time to find out what exactly? Why didn't you give a fuller explanation in your post? You painted a picture that UK hospitals are to be avoided. You didn't give an explanation, just a banal statement about 'lurgies'. Yes this is a forum that aims to support, but don't expect crass statements to be unchallenged.
