Slow loss @ 7 week post op

I'm so glad you posted this because yes, I always thought carbs where the devil. Up until 5 weeks post op, I didn't eat carbs and barely lost. But when I increased my carbs and calories, I did begin to lose a bit more. Still not completely satisfied but at 3 weeks post op, I'm down 32 (SW 275). But yes, I agree with you 100%.

    CHOBANI FLIPS

I normally eat Dannon Light Greek which is low cal, low carb, low sugar. Chobani Flips are so darn tasty but range from 190 - 250 calories. Are these considered healthy? I try to stay around 500-600 cal a day but eating these, I'll have to bump that up a bit. Any thoughts?

    CHOBANI FLIPS

@@lclemur Hi there, no I joined this site Dec 2014, surgery date 5/6/15. However, I do still feel that my calorie count is too low. I eat 3 tiny meals a day without Snacks. Thanks for your response!!

    CHOBANI FLIPS

    Yes. Thank u!!!
  5. Anyone gain weight? Surgery Date 5/6/15 SW 275, height 5"11; LowestW 249; CW 251. I do some form of working out 6 days a week. Increased my ability to jog (and have gotten 8-10k steps many times). No fried foods, no soda, no juice, no pork, very low carbs. One cheat day I ate banana pudding while still remaining under 1000kcal that day. Typically eat 500kcal a day. WTH did I gain weight? I'd expect at the least 35lbs down thus far. Feeling like I did all of this for nothing.
  6. I'm 7 weeks out and get between 500-600 most days.

    FUGG THIS (WEIGHT GAIN)

@@VSGAnn2014 thanks so much for your reply. Yes, I eat lots of Protein and I get my 64oz of Water in M-F (weekends are so hard for some reason). I do weigh my self daily but only account for Wednesdays. I have to start weighing monthly, it's killing me. Thanks again!!!
  9. Yep, i had the same experience and my insurance company denied me. I just blocked their number. They are horrible.
  10. It depends. If you've experienced massive weight loss and you have hanging skin (typically the stomach) and it causes infections, your insurance may pay.

    Getting Jiggly

My body has always been soft and jiggly so losing 20lbs, I'm even more jiggly. Tone-up in effect.
  12. Ok so I'm on the soft food phase, no meats. However, I decided to attempt bite a baked chicken and had no problems. So now, I pinch a piece of baked or grilled chicken daily (2-3oz) and have yet to have any problems keeping it down or anything (hopefully that doesn't change). I've never been a "junkfooder" so I'm not fazed by Snacks or sugar but being a vegetarian for a month is killing me. I know I should stop but it taste so good. Should I be ashamed, worried, slapped, happy (that I haven't have issues)? I don't know. Any feedback is welcome. SW 275, CW 255, 5'10"
  13. Thanks. That's what I was was thinking as well. I do chew well (relative to the past) and I only eat it once a day. 5 weeks out, I'm allowed lunch meat, ground turkey and seafood. I just don't feel that Protein solely from shakes (and an egg) is appropriate but I'm not doctor.....
  14. I am also in soft food phase and I am allowed to have chicken and Turkey and fish as long as i chew good and it is softened with some kinda broth See, I've seen other plans online and they are allowed lunch meat and such during the soft food phase. That's sort of my reasoning. Guess I shouldn't feel so bad since I'm not eating completely bad, I just need something to chew. Good luck on your journey!
  15. chicken (grilled or baked) at 2 weeks out and haven't stopped. I'm 3 weeks post op.
  16. I just made a post last week titled One Week+ Post Op if you can find it, you may find it useful. I was sleeved 5/6/15. And my concern now, to be honest, I still have the same desires to eat.......
  17. Just thought I'd share. I am a wife and mother of 3, including two-year old twins. I definitely consider my superwoman because I do it all, husband or not. Anywho, I had the Sleeve 5/6/15, discharged 5/8/15. 5/6/15 - Surgery who? I felt great. 5/7/15 - Why the fudge did I have this surgery? I felt horrible and did have gas pains. 5/8/15 - Okay, I can do this. Normally an overnight stay is needed but my blood pressure was extremely high (was not high pre-op). I took 5 days off from work. During those 5 days, I have taken care of the kids, cooked dinner almost daily, cleaned my house, laundry, etc. (NO LIFTING). The only regret is that I went grocery shopping, alone. But, I'm the type that just can't sit down and wait for others to do something for me. Ah well. Day one I had zero problems scarfing down a sugar-free Popsicle and drank about 1/8th of an Isopure. Day 2, attempted Optisource and threw it up. I think it was just too thick. Day 3 I probably got down 30g of Protein from Isopure. Day 4+, I easily get my required 60g of protein. I can eat 1/2 - 3/4 of an egg. Today, my first day of Soup, I had 3/4 of a cup (it was heavenly). The only time I remember that I had surgery is when I get full. It's a weird. While eating an egg, I was like, what is wrong with me; then I realized, oh, I'm full, put the fork down. I will forever hold on to that feeling of eating that egg. Today is day 9 and I'm down 19lbs. SW 275, current 256, 5'10". I am now putting my scale away until I'm 30 days out. Just thought I'd share for anyone who may be having doubts or questions. I get tired more quickly now but otherwise, I feel great. Can't wait to get some good workouts in.

  20. I hope that is fear talking, because I can't see that as love. I was fit and slightly overweight when I met my husband and we were dating. I was about 244 lbs when we married I remember crying one day and he told me he loves me and will love me if I weighed 300 lbs. If he is more worried about skin than your health, I think there is an issue. I don't really mean to come across harsh I know that messages do but to me that was a shallow remark and meant to sting. His lack of support motives me more to get it done. I certainly think it's fear but now I'm angry about it so I'm getting it done and if whether he leaves or stays, I'll be happy. I'm tired of thinking about everyone else but me.
  21. I'm going thru a very similar situation. Mom of 3 and married for 10 years. He claims that he will not be attracted to me if my skin starts to sag. I think it's just a BS of an excuse. I've gone back and forth for years and decided that I'm gonna do it for me. You could not be attracted to me next week and leave for all I know. So yes, be selfish and think about you for once. As a fulltime corporate worker, grad student, wife, and mother, I've put everything ahead of my own needs and wants. If you are not happy and complete then everything else crumbles. I'm scheduled 5/6/15 and if he leaves me then goodbye!

    Blue Cross

Wait, I just saw you're in MO, I'm in STL, do you have BCBS of IL?
  24. nerkerle

    Blue Cross

They should have online access to your policy coverage without needing a user name and password. At least BCBS of IL does. They required 6 month NUT, Psych counseling and such. My BMI is 40.3 with no other health complications and I got approved in 3 business days. Good luck.
