  1. Hello, Welcome! I'm new too...posted my newbie story yesterday, somewhere on this site lol. I'm hoping to find ppl starting this journey like me. What procedure are you getting and where are you in the process?
  2. Well good thing you don't have to do the required 3 or 6 months! And $17,000 wow but you know that's actually a lot lower than I thought it would be. I'm hoping to use all the Bailey doctors if possible...I stay 3 min from the hospital so that will be very convenient. I sure hope you get everything complete and can get your surgery soon
  3. Oh ok...do you still have to do a 3 or 6 month process if you are self pay? I feel so lost when it comes to the appointments etc. I'm hoping that they give me a checklist, flow chart or something to help me understand things and keep me on track lol! And if you don't mind me asking about how much does Bailey charge for self pay. I need to start thinking of plan B just in case lol.
  4. Oh no! Well at least you are getting the apnea taken care of. I'm kind of nervous to go through the testing process although I'm not new to the process (I've had 90% of the required tests anyway lol) I just hope nothing comes up that will delay the process. When are you having surgery? Was the insurance approval process difficult?
  5. Hello all! I just wanted to introduce myself. I am new to this site and in the beginning stage of my wls journey. I'm a 34 year old Special Ed. Teacher and live in Owasso Ok. I'm married and have 7 children. I have struggled with my weight since the birth of my first child 15 years ago. I have contemplated wls for many years but just recently decided that it was a must for me. I have my 1st appointment with my surgeon on Jan. 20th and will complete the 3 month program per insurance requirement. Since I am off in the summer I'm hoping to have everything complete and approved for an end of May surgery date. I'm really hoping to gain a lot of information from everyone's experience and am looking forward to sharing my journey with you all as well
  6. Cota1262 thanks for the info! As you can see I made some changes on my profile . I am hoping to get all my appointments in ASAP I don't like to procrastinate when it comes to stuff like this. I seem very pleased with Bailey so far and think I made the right choice. I actually think Dr. Katsis has operated on me before at St. Francis. Well I hope we can keep in touch I have absolutely no one who has gone through this before to compare "notes" with and it's nice to know see someone on here going to the same place as me!
  7. Hello, I am new here and plan on having surgery at Bailey. My first appointment with Dr. Kirk is Jan. 20th. I have Aetna and will be completing the 3 month program. Since I'm a Teacher and have summers off I'm hoping to complete everything and have surgery at the end of May. I actually live in Owasso so I'm glad that I'll be close to home through this process. If anyone has any advice or information they think that will be helpful, please let me know. @@Cota1262 I plan on attending the next support group as well so maybe I will see you there
