  1. Hello Michiganders!! There's not much activity in this group.. but I thought I'd add. I haven't been sleeved yet. I am seeing Dr, Kam in Traverse City MI. I'm 5ft 227 and range from size 16-20. Can't wait to be in the single digits. In good health other than being morbidly obese. Anyone active on here currently in the "process" to have surgery? Or already had surgery? Whose your Dr? How is everything going? Insurance? Out of pocket expense? How much weight you've lost? Maintaining? Anyone want to share? I'm going to keep posting here.. Hopefully my experience will be helpful to someone. Get some people talking or maybe entertaining that I'm talking to myself. I also post update in my profile "about me: section.. If you are looking for any details..

    BCBS Federal timing question

My "approval" took 4-5 days.. but it took 29 days to hear back from my surgeons office and I still have another 40 days to wait for surgery.. Hopefully yours will all work out for you in June.. Good Luck!
  9. Hi All, I was just informed by the BP COORD I could have up to a 1.5 month wait to find out my surgery date. I have a 2-4 week wait to hear on approval from Fepblue, and a 1-2 week wait from GTS on a surgery date. That seems so far away, very far away.. I've been waiting for 9 days total so far..7days business... Not that I'm counting.. hahaha I've been keeping myself occupied with life and hobbies and I thought I was doing well until my dream last night. . In my dream my Mom performed the surgery and I was awake the whole time. I could feel the breathing tubes slide out of my nose and I'd have to put them back in my nose. I could even smell nitroux oxdie when i took deep breaths. I couldn't feel the pain, but i felt the pressure of my mom cutting into my stomach....It felt so real. OMGness. it was such a crazy dream. @ my fellow Michiganders, what did you do to keep your mind occupied? How long did you wait?

    Any April Sleevers?

42 days to go! Today Is my first day of a modified version of my pre op diet and its going pretty well. Not particularly hungry. I have to remind myself to drink my Protein shakes. For that feeling of food in my stomach, I ate a big salad like the one required in my pre op diet. I'm going to try this for a week and push for 2 weeks. My weight has stalled, hoping this will get the scale moving again. I have an appointment coming up with my PCP, I still weigh the same and I don't want it to looked like a gave up, because I haven't. I'm still eating right and trying to lose weight.
  13. 42 days to go.. feels like the longest count down ever!

If you want 42 days to pass quickly, borrow (and promptly spend) some money that has to be paid back in 42 days.

Hello Michigan! ...is this thing on?

On 2-17-15 I got my surgery date. I guess Dr. Kam isn't doing any gastric surgeries in March.. So first available date 4-21-15. I figured with everything done in January, I'd have the surgery in February.. March the latest... It was an up and down roller-coaster phone call. I did get re-excited when she said "April 1st" then was like "oh wait, nope" then back to sad face. lol .. It stings a little when you see ppl posting on the fb page how they just got their date for March, and you got your over 2 weeks ago. and way farther out. My emotions are all over the place. I'm bummed to wait so long, Happy I'm having it, also grateful I have time to get all my ducks in a row. so, its a constant circle of blue and happy.... But I am ready to have it done with. I'm ready to move on to the next phase. See how I handle post op day 1... I really can't to be at the "before and after" Phase. ..But now I am in the waiting phase.. And right now I am at my day 48 before surgery countdown. I would like to hear how everyone is doing. Anyone want to share?
  16. 48 more days to go! Come on April 21st!!

How much loss 5 weeks out?

I haven't had surgery yet. but I'm curious myself to see people responses to your post. I thought I'd have surgery in early March giving me more time to adjust and heal for a concert I'm going to at the end of may. So, I will be 5 weeks out and kind of in the same place as you. my CW 224 and 5'1. I keep looking at 5 week out post to get an idea. But I still hope ppl reply to your post, instead of tell you to search it... which is annoying sometimes.
