  1. I cheated and had a pureed dish today instead of waiting until wed. I had a very small portion of eggfaces ricotta bake which I made tonight. It was great but I feel guilty.
  2. I'm on full liquids until wed. I start pureed diet then and I can have scrambled eggs.
  3. My highest weight was 242. I was 224 on surgery day. I was up 5 pounds after surgery-fluid weight. I weigh 211 today.
  4. I'm tired of what I can eat too. I can try eggs next Wednesday and go on pureed foods. I can also try ricotta bake then. I can't wait. I'm tired of the full liquid diet.
  5. dad77 I had surgery 9 days ago. So far the worst part was the day of surgery and the next morning. I had pain at that time but it wasn't too bad but the nausea was intense even with meds. It got better the day after surgery and each day keeps getting better. I walked 1/2 an hour on the treadmill yesterday. I'm not hungry yet. I'm able to get my fluids and Protein in. Before surgery I had some of the same thoughts as you. I wondered if I'd ever have pizza or other favorite foods again. I think I will have them again some day just smaller portions. I will have a new normal but before I didn't eat normal, I overate. I had a drain but the Dr took it out before I left the hospital on the 2nd day. My Dr puts them in to detect whether the sleeve has a leak. If it does there will be amylase in the Fluid or the fluid will look like what you have been drinking. I only had blood thinner shots while I was in the hospital.
  6. You definitely need to decide before submitting to insurance so they approve you for what you want to have done. I have the sleeve since 12/29/2014. I'm happy with it so far. I chose it because I wanted my digestion and absorption to be more normal.
  7. My nut has me adding 1/3 cup powdered nonfat milk to all my soups, yogurt, skim milk etc which adds 8 g protein to everything I add it too. I also like carnation no sugar added instant breakfast with 1 cup skim milk and 1/3 cup powdered milk. 21 grams protein and I like it better then protein shakes. I also get 12 grams of protein in yogurt and after adding the powdered milk its 20 grams protein. I can't tell the powdered milk is in anything unlike the protein powder which leaves a taste even when its unflavored. I hope this helps you.
  8. I love that site. My support group told me about it the same time I learned about this site. I can't wait to try the recipes either especially the ricotta bake.
  9. queensleever05 Please let us know what the Dr says, I will be praying that all goes well for you.
  10. My dumping was kind of my fault too. I had yogurt with 8 g sugar instead of 6g or less. I didn't think it would make a difference but it did. I almost forgot about my surgery before but always seem to remember just before doing the wrong thing.
  11. msladyjj44 Sometimes I have that and then I stop drinking or eating until it stops. When it stops I drink or eat slower with smaller bites or sips.
  12. queensleever05 I thought I had dumping last night. I had just finished some yogurt, I felt fine before having it and while eating it. Shortly after I felt dizzy, light headed, and then I felt sick to my stomach, threw up once, continued to feel nauseated and just not right for another 40-45 minutes. Is this dumping?
  13. On my job we are not allowed to come back unless we can lift at least 25 pounds. 25 pounds is considered a light duty restriction. There are no exceptions.
  14. No I haven't yet but I thought about trying it.
  15. Any nurses out there? I'm a floor nurse and I'm trying to decide when to go back to work.
  16. My Dr advanced me to full liquids when I got out of the hospital 2 days after surgery. I'm having yogurt, and blended soups but with my Drs consent. I'm doing fine but I think all Drs tend to have different requirements.
  17. I'm supposed to have 60 grams protein a day and work on sipping water, broth, propel, to stay hydrated. For protein I have yogurt with dry milk powder stirred in to make protein count higher. I have bean or split pea or potato soup with dry milk to make protein count higher. Soup has to be put through blender first. Diet instant pudding made with skim milk and extra nonfat dry milk powder to make protein count higher.
  18. I had bad headaches for the first 3 days of pre op diet. Headache went away on 4th day. I was very hungry on pre op diet. I had surgery monday 29th. I'm not hungry. Getting my required fluids is a job right now. Every day will get better and this is worth doing!
  19. I had surgery 2 days ago. I was very scared before surgery and I knew I wouldn't cancel because everyone I knew who had the surgery was happy they had it. I had a lot of pain and nausea the day of surgery and the next morning. Its much better now. I'm feeling very positive about the surgery now.
  20. I had my surgery the day before you did. The first night and part of the next day was really rough but it gets better every day. This morning went a lot better then yesterday. Know that each day gets better.
  21. I had my surgery on the 29th. My Dr found a hiatal hernia which he repaired during the sleeve surgery. I was in pain and very nauseated monday night and tuesday morning. I had a lot of dry heaving but I;m feeling much better today. I just got home today.
  22. I'm not supposed to have caffeine on my pre op diet. Mainly because I can't have it after surgery because of its diuretic effect. Its better to have withdrawal before surgery instead of after. We can have it back again eventually but it will be awhile. At least this is what my Dr says about caffeine.
  23. Gendy I'm in Iowa too! I live in Wilton, Iowa. I often shop in the quad cities. I used to live in Davenport.
  24. Why was your surgery postponed? I just started my pre op diet today. I did fine all day but then around 7 pm I felt nauseated and had a terrible headache. I'm not sure if its from the diet or not.
