  1. My surgery is December 29th. I only have a 5 day pre op diet because I've lost almost 20 pounds during the last 6 months working with the dietician.
  2. I have my pre op visit and tests tomorrow. I start my pre op diet on the 22nd, and I get to have 2 oz of ham 1/2 cup mashed potatoes and 1 tbs gravy for x-mas dinner. They said that wouldn't hurt anything. I'm not looking forward to the pre op diet but I'm excited about surgery. My surgery is 7:30 AM on December 29th. Karen
  3. My insurance required 6 months of visits to the Dr and the dietician. I had to keep food logs the whole time. I also had 2 visits with psychologist to be cleared for surgery. First visit was last July, then they submitted my paper work after my December 2 visit. I was approved on Dec 8th and given a surgery date of 12/29/2014.
  4. I'm not looking forward to my families Christmas dinner. My husband is supportive but some of my kids don't want me to have surgery. I'm not sure how they will react when I can't eat a normal Christmas dinner. Also will I be strong enough not to eat Christmas dinner. Can I make pies and Christmas cookies for Christmas without having any? My kids will be upset if I don't bake this year. Does anyone else have this problem?
  5. Big_Mama Now that surgery is so close I have been obsessed with the surgery too. I have been driving my family crazy talking about it and researching it.
  6. I was thinking we could all friend each other and have our own group of people going through this surgery together. Would that be ok with all of you?
  7. Amanda, I ordered the sample pack. Thanks for telling us about it. Its exciting and scary to have surgery so close. I bet the time will pass by quickly. Karen
  8. My surgery is December 29th. Is that close enough? I would like to have a buddy.
  9. Images added to a gallery album owned by Karenlrn in Before and After Gastric Sleeve Photos

  10. I had my last appt with the Dr and dietician today. They will call me when the insurance company approves or denies me. They told me it would probably take 1-2 weeks to hear from insurance. I wanted them to try to do surgery in December because my deductible has been met for this year. I might end up having to wait until January. If I get approved my surgery date should be close to yours.
