  1. I am off pain meds. They made me feel sick. I don't have much pain just sore and scared to put too much liquid in my stomach!
  2. I never knew how much having to sip liquid would control my life! I feel like it is all I have done today and I have only had 20oz!
  3. My stomach is making so much noise like it is growling. It totally stinks but at least I am getting fluids in.
  4. @@Pup I had the sleeve. I have only been able to get 12oz down in the pas 3hrs.
  5. How much fluid can you get in before it comes up? I am too scared to try more than an oz but I am so thirsty!
  6. I don't have major gas pains but have been up walking the floor! I am staying one more night and I'm good with it. I haven't moved from water yet. I have to drink 9oz of water before graduating to jello and broth. So happy to be on the other side of this!
  7. I am doing good all things considered. They gave me so much nasia meds so I am good. I was able to get up and walk half the floor! Having a hard time going pee! I have a nurse that had the same surgery so it is helpful. I do have some gas pain but it is not unbearable. I can't drink anything until tomorrow.
  8. Just checked in...little freaked out but staying calm...almost there!
  9. @ we might be around the same time. I am in Boise so on MT time zone. I slept pretty good all things considered. Ready to get this done! I love seeing all of you that are already finished!
  10. The hospital should have everything as far as meds. I was told I only needed vitamins for home. I don't have to have a catheter thank goodness! I have a IUD and haven't had a period for 2 years...I hope it doesn't start!
  11. I, for just a second wondered it was a sign. I got over it quickly and will keep looking forward to my new life!
  12. My surgeons office just called and moved my case back from 9:30 to 12:30! At least I will have time to pack in the morning now.
  13. I am thankful to be at work today with plenty to keep my mind busy. The nurse called me to confirm my time for tomorrow. I took measurements and pics last night. I am on a clear lisp diet today. Not that hungry although it is only 10am where I am. Lunch time will be weird not eating. Excited and have lots of hope today!
  14. I haven't packed yet either! I will tomorrow. I have to go to a pre-op class required by my surgeon. That doesn't get over util 8 so hopefully I will be able to sleep. Can't wait to hear how everyone is doing after surgery.
  15. I don't start my clear liquid diet until tomorrow! I think that is why surgery on Tuesday doesn't feel real! I am keeping busy by cleaning the house and tomorrow I will go into work a few hours early so I can have everything prepared for while I am off. I am having serious fears of being one of the people that has a leak! That is why I must keep busy! Hope you all are doing well!
  16. I am the 24th as well! I am really nervous and it still doesn't feel real since my doctor doesn't require a pre-op diet. I am sleeping good bad have busy at work getting ready to be out. I am sure I will start freaking out Sunday. I am 5'9 and 290lbs. Looking forward to so many changes!
  17. Tricare is its own animal. I work for the federal government and no, Tricare insurance is not the same as what you have in the civilian world. You only have to have one co-morbidity and a BMI of 35 to qualify. You will also need 3 months of documented weight lose in the last 2 years. If your BMI is over 40 the. You don't have to have any co-morbidity. I waited a very long time to get this surgery. Once I had everything to submit to Tricare it only took two days for them to approve the procedure. So less than two weeks after approval I will be in surgery. My surgeon did not have a two week liquid diet or a weight lose requirement prior to surgery. He is the best bariatric surgeon in my area and the clinic is a certified bariatric center of excellence. I couldn't be more excited to finally get this done after almost two years of waiting. I was a week away from surgery last year in Germany but the surgeon would do the surgery since we were PCSing in the summer. So good luck with your journey....it might be long but will be worth it!
  18. I would request a different PCM. They are not the keepers of who get surgery. Tricare sets the standard on who qualifies for the surgery. Is your spouse still active duty? I am in Tricare prime and will be having the Gastric Sleeve next Tuesday. I would look at the Tricare website and print out the requirements for surgery and take that into the doctors appointment with you.
  19. I want to cross my legs comfortably. Do yoga without my belly getting in the way. Buy something from any store in the mall. Hike, bike, and explore the places I haven't been physically able to go!
  20. Insurance just approved me and I got a surgery date of May 24! I am in Boise. Dr. Koran is doing mine! I would love to have a support group. I haven't gone to any of the group meetings yet. Dr. Korn is doing the surgery.
  21. For those of you that use the Vitamin patch versus the pill form. Which Patches do you use and was there a cost difference between the two? Thank you!
  22. Any updates for those using the patch?
  23. Thank you! I work at the VA as well. Yes, I have already taken the two weeks and will see how I feel. If I can I will come back earlier. I have my own office and always close the door for a moment if I need to.
  24. i can totally take the two weeks or even a month, I just don't want to. I recently had a surgery on a herniated disc and felt fine to go back to work after a week. I just don't like wasting my time off if I don't have to. If I can come to work and still take care of myself I will definitely do that. I don't like just sitting around at home.
