  1. I am so jealous! I have another week before I can start eating sod food. I am looking forward to cottage cheese. I have been back at work and feel a little weak but not terrible. Someone brought in Krispy Creme doughnuts. It was easier than I thought to not want to eat one! I was shocked.
  2. Thanks ladies! I guess if I am going to have a side effect this one isn't terrible! I will try the melatonin and will definitely be having wine when I am able.
  3. @@Pup are you out of the hospital?
  4. I am a week out from surgery and I can't sleep! I haven't taken any pain meds since last Thursday when I left the hospital. The past few nights I just can't go to sleep or stay asleep. I didn't even nap hoping that was the problem and it wasn't. I have always been able to sleep without issues! I am wondering if it is a hormone issue?
  5. I just had my follow up and I am down 15lbs since surgery. I was cleared to go back part time to work. I must say that I am feeling pretty worn out after today's activities maybe a week of not eating is catching up to me. I am looking forward to the soft food stage in two weeks. I read someone on here are pasta and chicken two weeks after surgery and the chicken was stuck! Her scare is enough to keep me on line!
  6. @ pup I hope you get better soon! @ Lana R how are you doing? Did you get meds from your doc?
  7. Is anyone else not having issues getting fluids/ soups in? I am able to have about 4oz of soup and feel fine.
  8. You still have a officers "boot camp". I would double check with the recruiter but don't think they will allow it. It might depend on the service you choose but the Air Force wouldn't allow it.
  9. Maybe you should call your doctor tomorrow? I can't imagine how weak you are.
  10. I cooked for my family...not because they asked. My hubby was fully capable of doing everything but some how cooking made me feel normal even though I am not eating.
  11. Me to! I am trying to keep busy but it is hard! It is a real struggle.
  12. Head hunger is real! I want to eat everything!
  13. @@krazy kat hang in there. It took me almost two years to be on the losers bench! It is worth the wait.
  14. I want to give a shout out to all of us with surgery this week...we are awesome! We are making it through a holiday eating nothing! I am so proud of us. Just think ahead to the 4th of July and where we will be size wise and what we can eat. I was able to get all my Protein in and liquid. I went to the pool with my kids and got some sun on my face...of course I didn't dare get in. I am feeling pretty good. I have a follow up with my doc Tuesday and hopefully will be cleared to go back to work! @@Lana R I hope you get to feeling better. Maybe try a different temperatures for your liquid. I love Water but since surgery it doesn't like me.
  15. I took the smallest morsel of brownie into my mouth and it really didn't taste good.
  16. I have been feeling that way to. It is a holiday weekend, people are grilling and the pool opened. I have been pretty mobile so I went and walked around the mall....I am now not just dreaming of what I am going to wear I can see a goal in site. That has made it so much easier for me today. We only have a few weeks where we will feel like this and when we can eat real food we will feel better. Hang in there @@sarahb309 we are going to look fabulous soon!
  17. I am 5 days out and my stomach has stopped gurgling. I haven't had much pain so I haven't had any pain meds since leaving the hospital. I had a hernia repair as well as the sleeve and I hear it takes more time for it to heal if you had that. I started using protein powder and skim milk and I find it easier to get all of my protein in. Good luck!
  18. I was surprised to see that my stomach came out of my right side...that is where my biggest incision is. Sometimes my stomach feels heavy but I think it is the muscles healing.
  19. I have been able to sleep on my sides with minimal pain. I do use a pillow and that makes it better. I am up, showered, and did my hair. For some reason just doing my hair makes me feel more alive. I am a little scared to drink protein after yesterday's scare but I have to do it. I did get on the scale and I am down 10lbs since Tuesday!
  20. I had a little cream of broccoli soup and it was good. I only ate small bites and I made it myself with my vitamix. I had dreams last night about food and I didn't want to wake up! I also woke up drenched in sweat. I didn't have a fever but wonder if it has to do with all the hormone changes?
  21. It could be from the pain meds. I had a terrible headache while taking them along with the nausea meds. Once I stopped taking them I had a bad hangover headache.
  22. I drank too much to fast...7oz of a protein shake in 30 minutes. Don't do it! I had to walk a mile just to feel better and the gas pain to go away! I have definitely learned a lesson! I didn't throw up but wanted to. Definitely a learning curve I needed to make.
  23. @@Qwalla I am done! I got home yesterday! I am feeling really good. St. Luke's was great! I came home with no pain pills. Let me know when you get schedule.
  24. I didn't have a drain at all. That was a big thing for me...I didn't want one. I also didn't want a cathader. My doc was cool with it and it made me get up walking a few hours after surgery. @@Pup do you have a drain? Does it hurt?
  25. I am down 4lbs since I got home yesterday! Probably all water but I will take it! I didn't gain weight from the surgery....well at least I was the same weight when I came home from the hospital as when I went into the hospital. I have been up walking around the neighborhood and not had any gas pain. Today I am focused on drinking!
