  1. I'm doing well. I have my check up on Wednesday of this week. Lost 45 lbs. I Don't understand how do you gain weight when I'm not eating much. Only gained 1 pound one week then loss 3 lbs. I have already start exercising but will wait before starting weights. Be careful eating potatoes and breads. Remember, PROTEIN PROTEIN.
  2. Good luck iceciley. It's rough in the beginning but so rewarding
  3. Covergirl77, you have a new stomach. Is swollen and you do feel everything. You will have to learn you stomach all over again. Like how you know when your hungry, full, or your stomach don't agree with what your eating. I'm 4weeks out. Believe me it gets better. I'm returning to work soon. I can lay flat now and I'm ready to exercise. I have very little pain (only if I'm over doing something).
  4. Amen. You still have to watch the fat and cholesterol intake. But I agree. I didn't want a stroke, high blood pressure, diabetes, etc. Taking medicine for all these different medicines and still eating myself dead. I didn't really get it until after the surgery. I look at my plate and compare to the plate of food I use to eat. What a difference.
  5. Hello I was sleeved on November 17th. I feel great. But since lift patients at work, I'm not ready to return to work. Losing weight well. Can't weight to be cleared for exercising.
  6. Hello , I personally did not experience this issue as of right now. I believe because I only shared with my mother, sisters, and close friends my decision to have weight loss surgery. I believe if you know your friends then you know who would be the one. If someone tries or tried to talk you out of the surgery then watch them. The weight loss isn't drastic. Faster than the average diet and exercise but not instant. I'm two weeks out and have already loss 30lbs. I didn't have to do a 6month approval process. Stay away from comfort food and build you great support system.
  7. Me too. Doctors gave me Colaces which help. Water taste like metal. But I put pineapples or frozen fruit. Just keep sipping. Protein helps the healing
  8. It depends on the insurance you have in America. I had a better insurance. So I didn't have to do a lot of thing. I basically said I wanted the surgery and why. Had at the surgery at the hospital I work with the hospital's private insurance. I experience the same pain. Stayed for two nights. A week out and feel much better.
  9. This is great news. Just stay active is what I hear. I hope to lose at least 125 lbs. Glad to hear your daughter is doing well. Thank you
  10. I have a hard time eating as well. I am now able to get a whole protein shake down but after a week of my surgery
  11. Do you exercise a lot ? Congratulations on your weightloss!
  12. Thank you for sharing your beautiful story. I had my surgery 11/17/14. I feel much better today than the day after surgery. I'm excited about my upcoming weight loss. In my mind I don't feel like I will lose the weight. But stories like these are so help. My nurse gave me money because I didn't have enough for my post op medicine because the Drs added additional meds. Wonderful Angels. ????
  13. Felt the same way. No one shared the recovery process. Almost made me regret the surgery. Tomorrow makes one week post-op. I'm getting better each day. I feel when I'm hungry. Don't feel a difference sometimes. But I know when my body don't like something. Tried pureed turkey sausage and the feeling of this trying to go down was painful.
  14. Depends on your Doctor's order. My preps consisted of a 800-1000 calorie diet. Breakfast was a protein shake, snack was a whole fruit, lunch and dinner was a healthy choice or smart one meal. Protein shake for the evening. I only had to do a clear liquid diet the day before surgery.
  15. Thank you. What do suggest to control gas?
  16. Same day surgery. Wow. I am post surgery 6days. Feel better that yesterday each day. The gurgling is painful sometimes and frustrating. Walking helps. Protein is my new best friend. I need to drink more water. Great tip for drinking coconut water.
