  1. did your PCP have to put in a referral to get approval before you saw your surgeon?! if she already sent in the approval for you to see the surgeon then the insurance company has already cleared it all you need is your date!! I am at the same status right now ..only difference is I have to do my upper G.I. test to see if it is clear

  3. @@taweedeegirl what other tests did you need. I was told all I would need is blood work. depending on their qualifications or surgeons request ekg ..chest x rays .. ultrasound ..maybe upper GI or GERD test.. once u met with surgeon they will tell u
  4. i gained a 1 pound, but did not lose any weight .. and i was approved per policyThat's awesome, M weight has been up and down during my 3 month weigh in.. Today I was .30 ounces down from my initial weigh in but i'm so nervous. What insurance do you have? I have UnitedHealth care
  5. be advised after u get clearance from your ins co. there will be more test.. then u will get a surgery date
  6. sounds like you are on the right track just have everything done ...there really is no way to get around it I was able to do the EKG at my doctors office I do not have to do the Endoscopic. part

  13. when u are seeing the nutritionist u don't Have to lose weight..just going for 6 months meet qualification.. your surgeon will tell u if u need to lose weight before actual surgery .. I have UHC through my employer.. not sure what community or compass plans are

  15. I agree with Marley.. I actually put on weight prior to starting visits.. to ensure my BMI wouldn't drop too low. I didn't lose a pound.. and I was approved keep in mind your BMI should be 35-40 w/ co-morbidities without co-morbidities 40 or higher
  16. 6 months of nutrition ... psych.. I was approved by them
  17. my doctor is recommending I do the RNY but I had my heart set on the sleeve.. what is the popular opinion among people? I'm 5 foot my BMI is 41 and I weigh 211.. I thought the RNY was for people that are 350+

  19. i was approved for surgery with ins., i have my consultation with my surgeon on the 14th.. what should expect at this appt? will i receive a surgery date.. or will more test need to be done?
