  1. I had my surgery about one year ago and have lost only 8 pounds. It has been a struggle to lose that.
  2. Hi Teri. I am Terry also and had my surgery done by Dr. Heneghan in cooperstown about a year ago.
  3. Hi Teri. I am Terry too and had my surgery done by Dr. Heneghan in Cooperstown.
  4. this is what my experience is also. I have only lost 15 pounds in the last 5 months since I was banded
  5. I have a BMI of 32. I havehad 7 fills and have only a little restriction. I can still eat quite a bit. I was banded Feb.26th and have only lost 15 pounds. I was hoping for more than this. I have not lost a pound in the last 3 months
  6. I was banded in Feb. I have had 6 fills and can still eat quite a bit. I have 6.25cc's at this point and only feel a little restriction. I have not lost any weight since thefirst 15 pounds the first month out. I am wondering if this is going to work for me
  7. I just went in for my 4th fill today. I still feel very little restriction. I have 5cc now in a 10cc band. My doctor put 3cc in the day of surgery and 1cc in the first fill and after that he only does .5cc after that. From what I see most people feel that sweet spot around 7 cc or so but it is different for everyone.
  8. There are meetings at Cooperstown and Herkimer both through Bassett Healthcare. Herkimer is only 20 minutes from Utica. Call Tiffany at Bassett and she can tell you more. 607-547-3373
  9. I had the same thing. I actually got so weak I fainted twice. I was eatting to few calories. When I was able to get in more calories I felt better
  10. when I was going to the hospital for all the info on the surgery they told me to use GasX strips. I did and they worked fast. I suggest you buy them.
  11. I was not able to lift my grandson for 3 weeks, everytime I did I felt a pulling on the band. It made my recovery longer. I am 4 weeks out now and it is fine.
  12. I live in Central NY and I had a BMI of 36, by the time I had the surgery I was a 33. I have fibromylgia but I didn't have any of the other things they like to see wrong with people. My insurance covered it 100%. I don't think you have to worry about the insrance coving it with all the things you have wrong.
  13. My doctor did not require a pre-op diet. I am 20 days out and I'm eattng normal. It all depends on what your doctor wants you to do. Every doctors rules are different.
  14. I had a BMI of 35 and by the time my surgery came I was a 33 and my insurance paid 100%. The only ailment I have is fibromylgia. I was a little surprised they paid but they did.
  15. I use Spir-tein. You can get that at the health food store. They come in alot of flavors. You can also get protein power that is unflavored. I normally do a protein shake for breakfast and Spir-tein is by far alot better than any I have had. I havenever tried the medically supplied ones. Go to the health food store and talk with someone there they are a wealth of info
