  1. I have the same problem...I don't mind telling the people that I love; but lots of people that are not even that close to me just keep asking and asking. So now when they ask me "How much weight have you lost?" I just say "A lot."
  2. Personally I need more than 5 ccs to feel properly restricted. You might want to see yor doc for another fill....that might give you some more motivation!! Good luck!!
  3. Try these..they are delicious, although not low fat!! Bacon Wrapped Dates Stuffed with Blue cheese - All recipes
  4. I have excellent restriction, I am almost too tight in fact. Currently I have 6.2 ccs in my band which holds 10 ccs. So I am definitely not worried about being filled to the max!!!
  5. Definitely, definitely go in for another fill!! You CAN get back on track Good luck!
  6. I always drink up until I eat, then wait ahwile after...
  7. My surgeon allows me to drink diet coke...but unfortunately, I no longer enjoy it..the bubbles really bother me!!
  8. Intriguing...not sure....definitely has to be better than sitting, burning close to no cals, right?
  9. Personally, I didn't feel restriction till my 5th fill....it is very common that most people do not feel restriction until at least their 3rd fill. For me, it is quite obvious that the lapband is not a placebo. It is a very distinct feeling once you get to the right restriciton. Of course, I do still battle real hunger --sometimes--and head hunger most of the time.
  10. Well when I began I was a size 24 and I think I had to lose like 40 pounds before I went into a 22.....it was totally depressing!!!!!! But now as I have gotten smaller, the sizes go down a lot quicker. Somtimes I lose 6 pounds and I am down another size. Very weird.
  11. How many fills have you gotten? Do you follow the rules like protein first, no drinking while eating, etc+?
  12. You have just got to be patient! I am 16 months out and am still not at my goal weight. I have done very, very well...but it takes time. Follow the rules, do your research, go in for your fills...it will all come in time.
  13. First off....I do think you should get a fill. Once you lose more weight you will have more self control and confidence...and you need to band to help get you there. Second, I think you should keep going to your therapist. I have gone to my therapist for about 1 1/2 years and I am just starting to get to the bottom of things!! Good luck!
  14. Are you counting your calories? You could also try changing up your exercise routine...not sure if you do the same thing each time...And of course...what about getting a fill? I don't think typically I can eat a cup of food at a time..I usually eat abotu a 1/2 cup and I am fairly tight right now. Good luck!!
  15. I was so anxious before my surgery. I had never had surgery or anesthesia before. BUT...it went so well!! And it was hoenstly a very easy recovery for me. No regrets here!!!!!
  16. Keep researching to figure out what procedure will be best for you. I am 5'2 and was 280...I have lost about 127 lbs...and still losing. Good luck!
  17. Congrats on your decision! How exciting! Good luck
  18. There are many things that have helped me in my lapband journey...researching and knowing what I was getting myself into, getting my fills on a regular basis, exercising, and one of the most helpful has been going to see a therapist. I have gone weekly since about 3 months before I got the surgery. I have learned so much about myself, why I eat, etc. You should try it if you can Good luck. You can do this!
  19. I have it too, it is a great workout!! I have not committed to doing it everyday though. I go to the gym and do this on occasion when I can't get there...I must admit it is a tough workout and I always hurt the day after  Let us know how you're doing on day 30!
  20. I wouldn't drink the juice...it's just empty calories. How about drinking a shake for breakfast, and for lunch and dinner having 4 oz of a lean protein (chicken breast, tuna fish, salmon) paired with lots of veggies. Just be careful not to add too much fat to the meat and veggies. Good luck!!
  21. I am not sure if green bean casserole qualifies as mushie....not sure about stuffing either, although if you mush it with enought gravy!! Also, pumpkin pie--no crust. Good luck!!!
  22. Where are you located in NYC? My PCP is in the Bronx and would def. write you a letter...PM me if you're interested.
  23. I agree...go to NYU. I am very happy with them!
  24. Maybe you need a fill...that always motivates me when I have little or no motivation on my own. I am fairly tight myself...which I hate!! But, I am willing to tolerate till I get to goal. I probably eat around 1000 cals per day and I do exercise about 4 days per week. Good luck and keep us updated.
