I need some help I can't make up my mind if I want to go with the lap band or gastric. I'm 5'2" and weigh in at about 240. I also have diabetes (insulin), high blood pressure and u name it can someone help me make up my mind

well folks looks like I won't be able to get the lapband surgery cause the u of w said my copay after medicare would be 7000 dollars. I guess medicare doesn't pay for much of it:crying:

I would like to have the lapband surgery I live in Freeport, Illinois so would like to find one close to here. Any suggestions

yes I just got a call from u of w and they r certified by medicare and that is what they told me. Didn't sound right to me either. I went to Meritier Clinic

I just started this process and I'm going thru medicare and I was really surprised to learn even with medicare the copay for us is 7000 dollars for lapband and 10000 dollars for gastric I wish they would pay more for this

I'm suppose to go to the seminar on July 15 so I can't wait to get this process started. But I'm on medicare and heard that I will have to go thru with a 6 month medically supervised diet before I can have the surgery. So I guess I'll have a while to go yet.

Do u have Dr. Shayanis phone number I've tried to find it but can't. I called the one on his profile and they said he wasn't there any more. I think it was a chicago number.

Does anyone know of any place around Rockford Illinois that is doin the lapband surgery? So far the closest I've found is either in Chicago or U of W in Madison Wisconsin but would really like to be closer to home.
