  1. I'm going on December 3rd, have been on the pre op for almost a week. Looks like I am down close to 10 lbs, WooHoo. Nobody has said anything about a laxative yet, I see my surgeon on Wednesday maybe he will break that news to me then.
  2. Congrats!!! How much weight do you think you have lost since surgery?
  3. @@Blazzrr Thank you so much for your honesty. During the last few weeks leading up to my Pre Op Diet I also decided that I was going to allow myself to have whatever I wanted to eat. The nutritionists and nurses at my surgeons office were constantly harassing me. food has been my best friend and closest confidante for my whole life, I needed to say goodbye and I couldn't have that rushed. I made the decision to have surgery and give up excess food as my primary coping skill and was completely willing to do that, when it was absolutely necessary but not before. I am still pre op so I cannot say whether my strategy worked or not but reading your post gave me hope that my instincts are correct.
  4. @@JennsinCA Thats 33.5 lbs in Two Weeks you are a Rock Star!!! You are going to do great today and moving forward. Can't wait to hear how it all went.

  8. @@JennsinCA Hey Jen, I am just under 400 now and have some of the same worries as you. I wonder if my size makes it more risky etc etc. We all know what our mind can do to us. I keep telling myself that I am not by any chance the largest person this surgeon has seen, nor are you. I am sure we are both going to do fine. Good Luck tomorrow, Can't wait to hear how easy it was and how good you are doing!!!
  9. @@Jen D My surgery Date is also December 3rd and I started my pre op diet today. So far it is going OK, it ends up being about 1200 calories between the Protein shakes and the veggies. How are you feeling today? Luckily I don't have to cook for anyone else or have any other "bad" foods in my house.

  12. I am starting the pre op diet tomorrow, my surgery should be on December 3rd. I have been eating a lot the last few weeks going through the last supper syndrome. My surgeons office was not too happy to say the least but I met with them yesterday and all things seem to be on track. They are expecting me to do good on the pre op diet. I think someone here posted just keep your eye on the prize, that is what I am going to do. I am just going to take it a day at a time, drink my shakes, eat my veggies and suck on sugar free ice pops.
  13. I recently read a great blog post addressing these kinds of issues. I think it might be a good read for you and your daughter. Best of luck http://www.strongcoffey.com/index.php/no-a-daughter-reacts-to-moms-decision-to-have-weight-loss-surgery/#more-2665
