Any sleevers scheduled for late July?
July 28th is my surgery date. Trying to prepare for post op. Nervous but ready!

Aetna...What did you do to get approved?
1. General practitioner weight loss appointment 1 x every month for 5 months. Never gained but showed a loss. Dr had me on phentermine for 3 of the months so I wouldn't gain during this time period. Btw this was a new Dr that I had just obtained last October so no two year weight history was necessary. 2. Nutritionist 1 x every month for 3 months. 3. Psych doc approval. Already had been seeing him for 1 1/2 yr. So only 1 visit was necessary. 4. 1 overnight sleep test to establish sleep apnea. + Established knee problems + Meds for bi-polar cause weight gain. Make me extra hungry! I was approved in 4 days after paper work submitted. Hope this helps. Good luck!

Anxious over approval ????
Sorry to hear there's been a snag in your approval. Sounds like you will be approved after they get your doctor's letter though. So that's good. Hang in there, soon you'll be on your way to your new improved self!????

For Aetna people
I didn't have a two year weight history either. I got Aetna last August and attained a new doctor in September. I started seeing her for weight management back in February and once every month there after. My bariatric surgeon's patient coordinator sent all my paper work to Aetna and I received approval within 4 days.

I GOT APPROVED!
My doctor doesn't require a pre-op diet.

I GOT APPROVED!
Hey everyone! I was approved for surgery and am shocked at how fast their decision was. Paper work turned in on a Friday and approval on Tuesday. I was expecting it take at least a couple of weeks. I have my surgery date on July 28th. I'm so happy!

Feeling Frustrated!
So I met with my surgeon last week and am feeling better. My patient coordinator eased my fear of any weight gain. She said that it doesn't mean that Aetna will reject me. They just don't want to see huge amounts of weight gained. The important thing is meeting with my doctor every month. I also found out that my MD's scales are WRONG and not correct. They finally listened to me when they weighed me and it said I lost 65 lbs in a month! lol So they are ordering new scales and I will be weighed there after.

Feeling Frustrated!
I went in to my doctor last week to get weighed and I gained 5lbs! I can't figure out why. I even wrote down everything I ate and gave it to the doctor to review. She said it looked great and couldn't figure out why either. Now I'm afraid Aetna will not count this last month. This is the second time of my doctor supervised weight management appointment. I'm so frustrated and angry. She has me on a low carb diet and I don't think it's working for me. The thing is is that my pants are looser and my tummy has gone down. So I don't know what to think. Has anyone else had this happen after following everything correctly?

Did anyone NOT tell their job about surgery?
I told my one co-worker because she's also a friend and she has been so supportive and helpful. And I when ahead and talked to my boss since I had to ask for time off twice because I have to travel out of town to see my doctor who will be performing the surgery and the actual surgery date. She is very understanding and supportive. She told me not to worry about doing certain duties when I come back to work so I can heal. It really put me at ease. I have a great boss. As far as other co-workers, I probably won't tell them.

Worried about prescriptions - antidepressants
I take Lamictal, Seroquel and Gabapentin. Seroquel makes me hungry all the time, as a result weight gain. My question is, Am I still going to be hungry after I have the surgery if I continue taking the Seroquel? Anyone know?
