  1. whosyadaddy & Chris Good Luck tomorrow ! I will send you some extra energy vibes in the AM.
  2. 6/28 7/3 So I did another 'time trial' run-27min bike-32min swim- 12min I know I can improve the bike and the swim. Probably the run.
  3. O MY GOD!! YOU FOUND MY TOTAL WEAKNESS. GIMME some steaming hot Buttermilk biscuits, Country Ham with Red-Eye Gravy, Pecan pancakes and cheese grits. I think I gained 5lbs just thinking about it.

Looks like you know you can't do this alone, so why aren't you letting others help you? Use the resources available to you. The Dr. and the team he/she has set up to support you on your journey. Perhaps see a psychologist about your food issues. Learn some coping skills. You are not the first to have these issues. You will not be the last. Pull up your shirt. LOOK at the scars. You took the first step to better health but the band can't work if you don't give it a chance. Thinking about it will not make it fill it's self. Recommit yourself today. And if you have too do it again tomorrow and the next day and the next, do it. Until you are just doing the right thing without even thinking about it. Come back to LBT often. Read about others struggles and successes. Good Luck! Let us know how you are doing. Amanda
  5. Annie I hope your feeling better soon. It sucks being sick.

Relax. I know you're excited and really want this to happen now, but you need to have a little patience. When you do get banded and hit the inevitable plateau you will need to draw on your patience again. If you want this to happen it will. Use this time to inform yourself on the guidelines. Educate your support people. Start exercising a bit, it will help in your recovery.
  7. Have fun! I can never get out on the Water enough. Where abouts are you sailing? Puget Sound? My brother lives in Bremerton. It's wonderful you have so many supportive friends! What a great NSV
  8. Wendy- stick with it. It will get easier. At 170 you are a bit over your target heart rate- 30-35 yrs 95-162(50-85%) beats per min. Says the American Heart Association: How should I pace myself? When starting an exercise program, aim at the lowest part of your target zone (50 percent) during the first few weeks. Gradually build up to the higher part of your target zone (75 percent). After six months or more of regular exercise, you may be able to exercise comfortably at up to 85 percent of your maximum heart rate. However, you don't have to exercise that hard to stay in shape. Which might explain the nose bleed. The air in the gym is from AC units that dry the air. Another way to get a nose bleed. Keep up the great work!!
  9. They said to give it two hours. Everyone starts out at the admissions office doing insurance and general information. Even though I needed to give a blood sample, talk to the pre op nurse and anesthesiologist it still took two hours. There is alot of sit and wait. If you haven't already had it done (I had some of mine done by PCP) you will need pregnancy test(urine), EKG, Blood(type & cross match), meeting w/ anesthesiologist, meeting w/ hospital nurse(go over legal and last minute questions) and a little more paperwork. I think that is it. Good luck
  10. Just a little preview. Now (340) + BODYBUGG AND GYM = Later (190) Sorry about the lack of clothes I couldn't figure out how to give the model an outfit.

Podrunner: Intervals - Free Workout Music for 5K Training Heres one.
  12. I resisted temptation and didn't open a bottle. As to your question I had a glass of wine two days after banding and have had quite a few cocktails since. It's just a matter of figuring the calories into your daily plan. Straight booze is the least calories. When you add the mixers or sweet liqueurs you add on the cals. Nothing wrong with a good vodka.
  13. I want a glass of wine. But if I open the bottle I will have to finish it at some time(more empty calories) or toss it.

Great loss so far. Keep up the good work.
  16. westcoast- don't be afraid of a fill. I have never slimed, bp'd or got something stuck in the pouch. I've had two fills and am debating a third. The second really did the trick in regards to hunger. Im thinking a third would help in the portion size part, but Im getting so used to eating a bandster portion that I don't know if I want to mess up the no hunger thing. I really only have a problem with food at social situations and that is from grazing on the goodies. That's a whole other problem that the band can't help with. It's got to come from my head. PS you have got to get out more. Live your life as a couple as well as a family- (did I overstep the bounds? sorry)
  17. Thanks!! That's really great coming from you.
  18. + = FYI Some folks say that the websites where you can record calories and exercise (like daily plate) over estimate calories burned too.
  19. pace yourself with the booze. That stuff has alot of calories. I keep to 3:1. Three water to one booze. Either you will get alot of water or savor the booze. Have fun on the Fourth!!
  20. LapBand calendar- Hmm thats an idea. No, she is not in the calendar. I'm not sure why, I'll have to ask.
  21. I got a super boost today. Towards the end of my ride I muscled up a steep (for me) grade. I was a little startled when another biker started to talk as I didn't even see him come up on me. He said I did a great job. That he has seen many a rider walk the bike up that hill. WooHoo!!
  22. Pat, Im sure you are doing fine. If you are sticking to the guidelines and making your best effort there is NOTHING WRONG with your progress. It took a while for the weight to come on it will take a while for it to come off. Be patient. Your body is adjusting to the new and improved you.
  23. WooHoo! Its so true!! I pop them and keep going. If you only have a few use a product by BandAid that is for blisters. Really works. Good thinking. Drink cold Water with lemon. Read a book. Take a walk around the block. Do sit ups in front of the TV. Take a bath/shower. Give yourself a manicure/pedicure. Come to LBT and give the newbies some support. Have a good day folks!!:smile2:
