  1. I was graduated to stage 3 diet today (RNY on 1/19) for dinner around 630 I had 1/2 cup mashed potatoes (didn't eat it all, maybe a little less than half) and 1/4 cup applesauce (ate most of it) I felt like I had a ball in my esophagus for an hour and a half after I ate. At 45 minutes post meal I had a few small sips of Water. Now I have a stomach ache. A legit bellyache like I would have had pre op if I ate too much... What can I do? I'm so uncomfortable. Gas-x strips aren't working. I have Tums but I think they have real sugar in them (dextrose and sucrose) - 2 tablets have 2g sugars. Will they make me feel worse? I'm in tears, been laying in bed with the heating pad for the last hour and a half. Thanks!!

  3. Aside from burps I think I'm doing ok. I have a momentary "ouch" When i take a sip of Water. Not sure what that's all about? But it passes quickly enough... The burps though. Ugh! Lol!! I see NUT tomorrow, I'm going to bring it up Thanks everyone!
  4. I love TV! How to Get Away With Murder, walking dead, switched at birth, marvel's agents of shield, goldbergs, breaking bad (currently rewatching on Netflix), Fargo (can't wait for season 2!!), South Park, tosh.0, deadliest catch, incredible dr. pol, survivor, the amazing race, Hannibal, hmmm.... I'm sure there are a thousand more
  5. Hope you get to feeling better asap!!!!
  6. Such a stupid question!! I am CONSTANTLY burping!! One sip of Water = 3 burps lol.... Seems like a straw would bring less air into my pouch.... Anyone else need drinking tutor lessons? ~RNY 1.19.15
  7. COW used to make me gag but I made it the other night with premier protein vanilla and a large dash of cinnamon and it was delightful!
  8. That sounds yummy! It's not actual rice soup... Do you know cream of wheat? The powdery stuff that you add hot milk to? They make cream of rice - it's on my official "soft foods" diet sheet It's just the flavor. One bite, savory, next bite, gross. Lol.
  9. Oh! So the only reason you don't want stuff to go right through your pouch is so you feel fuller longer? Do meds get absorbed in the stomach?
  10. ... I feel like it's yummy one bite, and want to vomit with the next bite :/ ~ 8 days post-op RNY
  11. My first water bottle of the morning I fill halfway (6oz) and put in two teaspoons of benefiber. It really helped. You will want to take some stool softeners as well so it's easier to come out. It HURTS to strain
  12. Excellent ideas - I have both, will give them a try tomorrow
  13. I've gotten a lot off by washing gently with my body soap but I have some stubborn places (catheter tube hook, drain tape area).... Thanks
  14. I survived! They gave me these stylish stretchy boy shorts undies (seriously heads and tails better than the mesh ones i was given when i had my son lol!!) and a giant pad. Post surgery when I woke up that was the first thing I asked about, once I was lucid. Nurse said no worries, she changed it for me when I got out of surgery (mortified!) no big deal it's all good and happens often. When I got up for my first walk that night I went into my bathroom to clean up and try to put in a tampon - no problems
  15. Thanks! All my instructions say 30 min before and 45 min after
  16. For a meal do you have to stop drinking Water 1/2 hour before and 3/4 hour after just as you do with foods? I'm confused about how our stomachs get nutrients at all from Protein drinks, if fluids funnel through our pouches now. Can anyone explain that to me? Thanks! -7 days post op!
  17. I didn't buy it for any of those claims - I didn't even realize they claimed any of that hogwash, to be honest... I bought it because so many friends raved about the lack of taste in their foods/drinks. Thanks for the input everyone, I'll hold off on adding it to my Water
