  1. I know. It's a horrible feeling but eventually you have to eat real food. You just have to go insanely snail's pace slow. Glad you're feeling better!
  2. ITA with this. One of the things I would advise parent to do for certain test that always had long wait list was take the appointment they offer then call every day and ask about a cancellation. Often it helped them get seen sooner because the staff were familiar with them and could put them in that cancellation slot.
  3. Unfortunately it contains stevia which while natural triggers my allergies
  4. no idea. walking sometimes helps.
  5. It happened to me once and I used tums chewables. You have to eat super slow. Like take a teeny bite and wait 2 minutes before taking the second bite slow. I'd take the tums. One time won't kill you and you'll know to eat slower next time.
  6. I understand it can also come from eating to fast. Particularly as you move to more solid foods. Your sleeve can digest it fast enough and the saliva gets displaced.
  7. Are you meeting your water and protein goals? Dehydration can cause dizziness.
  8. My taste haven't really changed. i think the only thing that has changed for me is my portion size. I was on a journey to health before I decided on surgery so the foods I eat are pretty much the sames ones I ate then.
  9. I'm glad she is so open about having the sleeve, however I dislike that she often frames so apologetically. It's always, "I had a wake up call after I had a heart attack and that's why I had the sleeve." Minor quibble to be sure, but it rubs me the wrong way.
  10. Stacking. You ate too fast and it's staked up in your esophagus. You have to eat super slow or this happens. It's very uncomfortable and the only thing that helps is walking it out and waiting for it to pass. Could be a very uncomfortable few hours.
  11. Like other have said. You need to eat and you need to be eating maintenance level calories. If you suspect you have an issue, you likely do. Honestly if you're passing out on the toilet I wouldn't wait a week, I'd call the doctor first thing Monday and share the same concerns you posted here. See if they can get you in sooner or refer you for counseling.
  12. No your stomach won't stretch that easily. You were just fortunate.
  13. @@nprcowboy - I hope they resolve things for you soon. At this point, a bypass might be better than these back and froth trips to the ER. Glad to hear your wife is doing well.
  14. @@Peace Love & Sleeve - That's fine. The first few days all you need to do is focus on not getting dehydrated. As you heal, you'll be able to start working towards your protein goals.
  15. You shouldn't compare yourself to others. Some people are fast losers and others are slow and steady. As long as the scale is going in the right direction, that's all that matter.
  16. I was told to take a multi 2x's per day, calcium citrate 2x's per day, D3 1x per day and B12 sublingulaal 1 x every other day (now once a week). I bought an whole food multi from Whole foods, crushed it and took it mixed n a tsp of almond butter. I crushed the multi & calcium citrate until I was 6 weeks. I was allowed to swallow, the colace, omeprazole, D3 and biotin since they are all relatively small pills. I go my B12 from Walgreens. (FYI - you want the B12 that is methylcobalamin, so make sure you read the label). Bariatric Choice sells chewables of everything. I'll admit, I slacked on the supplements. I had a multi and biotin because I was already taking them before WLS. I got the omeprazole & colace because they were prescription. I didn't get the others until I was 2 mnths out. I was just too broke between meds and copays. I felt fine though. My doctor does blood work at 3 mths so I wanted to make sure all was well.
  17. Your weight loss is fine. Do not compare yourself to others. If you google there are exercises that can be done in a chair or in a pool. If you are still unsure call your doctor and get recommendations.
  18. Call your doctor. You may have swelling that needs to be looked at.
  19. I don't think any of us can answer that. The first thing that sprang to my mind was an ulcer. Get to a doctor for a follow.
  20. It varies from doctor to doctor. Mine is on the conservative side. I take a multi 2 x's a day, Calcium Citrate 2x's a day, D3 1 x a day and B12 sublingual once a week. Pretty sure if there's a zombie attack vitamins are the least of your worries.
  21. Define normal. Is it "normal" to be morbidly obese? Is it normal to worry about whether you fit in a chair? On a plane ride? Is it normal not be able to go into a department store and shop for clothing? Only you define what's normal for you your life and people redefine their lives all the time.
  22. I'm single so unless I'm having people over every meal is a meal for one. The freezer is my friend. I am also on a fixed income. I have figured out how to prep, freeze most things. I cannot afford to have items go to waste and take out is rarely more than a once a month treat.
  23. I had surgery on 9/18/14 and have zero regrets. I had no pain, no complications. None. I wish I had done this 20 years ago. I have gone out to eat several times. I simply eat slow and get a doggie bag. I have no desire to cheat. (Then again I was never a cheat meal dieter). I have tolerated every food I have tried. Everyone is different, but I for one cannot begin to express how happy I am with my decision.
