  1. I won't be able to make it. My daughter has play production. I should make the next one.
  2. Oh my gosh!My church is right behind yours. I will be there with other sleevers.
  3. Where will the meeting be held?
  4. I may try Hairfinity. Great info everyone. The pros outweigh the cons. I would rather welcome the regrowth of hair than the return of pounds & an unhealthy lifestyle. Blessings to everyone!
  5. That's perfect. I'm in Camden daily. Looking forward to it. (Sorry for my typos in the previous post.)
  6. Hello. I'm just starting my 6 month journey to be approved. I was told by others to prepare myself for a huge increase in self esteem and unexpected haters (people that you thought would be happy for you, but turn into frienemies). Would any of you like to share your experiences & thoughts? I'm just trying to prepare myself for all of these changes.
  7. Kentucky Girl....are you ok? I said a prayer for you. I know this thread is old...but I hope you are well now. Blessings!
  8. Hello , I'm in Delaware. I haven't had the surgery yet, but I'm working on theballmofnthe preliminary tests & classes. I would love to have a support group.
  9. Great info. I just spent the last year and a half "going natural". My surgery probably won't happen until May or June (which is my going natural 2 yr anniversary). I don't want to see all of my work fall out in my brush. A friend who had it done 2 yrs ago said she just kept her hair cut short and didn't notice any loss. I don't want to do that. I read on another thread that sew in weaves weren't good because the excessive shedding will get matted into your braids.
  10. Hello everyone. I'm still in the pre-op stage, but I'm curious as to how the African American ladies have dealt with the inevitable hair loss. Any and all suggestions are welcomed.
  11. I'm 5'8" 282 pounds , but have 6 months since my new insurance requires it. My current only requires 3. *SIGH* I feel the same way you do. I hope they approve me. Best Wishes!
  12. And yes....I'm leaning toward the sleeve for the very reasons you all mentioned. I just want my stomach to hold less, to actually feel full and leave my plumbing as it is. ????
  13. Thanks everyone. I decided to see the surgeon who performed the first sleeve procedure in our state. I asked a few of his patients about their experiences. They all said the same thing - he is honest & informative with a great bedside manner. I'm looking forward to my appt this Thursday.
  14. Hello everyone. I'm new to this community. I went to a seminar on the various procedures with my mind set on a VSG. Well, by the time I left I felt like I went to a car dealership looking for a Mercedes, but left with booklets on custom Phantom or Maybach. The surgeon was ALL ABOUT THE BYPASS being better with loads of data. I scheduled my surgeon consult with a different surgeon & I'm dreading the same result. I would love & appreciate your stories. The good, bad and ugly. I want to make a sound (non - emotional) decision. Thanks!
