  1. I've been giving this some thought too. For years, my goal was always to stick to this or that diet; this or that exercise program because it is the latest thing. And by Feb 1st, if not sooner, my resolutions are out the door, I feel that I've failed again. So, this year I'm starting off with surgery on Dec 30th. From there I am resolving to take it one day at a time and to do everything in my power to make that day count! I of course have the daily nutrition goals of drinking water and getting in our protein and veggies. Also the daily exercise. If we get all that done in a day, BIG WIN! if not, tomorrow is a brand new day!
  2. brokenangel84 not sure where my reply went. I found the protein powder on amazon. I'm not sure if Texas curves has another site that she uses.

  5. They tell me I'll either be discharged late Christmas day or the day after. It was that or wait another week and I decided I wanted to get it done.
  6. There is a group of us who are having bypass on the 23rd. We've got a little support group via email. I'm sure you would be welcome if you don't mind that we are a week ahead of you.

  8. I like pure protein powder in vanilla and chocolate. You can get them on amazon.
  9. I'm right there with you! ! Today was day one of my pre-op diet, liquids only for two weeks. I don't want to see recipes and food ads, but they are everywhere! I cheated and added a salad to my dinner tonight because I was so hungry.
  10. I like the pure protein powder. It doesn't mix up very well so I have to stir it extra, but I really like the taste. I've tried both vanilla and chocolate. If you don't want it as thick, just add a bit more milk.
  11. There is a group of three of us getting bypass on the 23rd. We've been emailing each other for support. Let me know if you want in on our group
  12. My surgery is on the 23rd. I meet with my surgeon on the 15th and meds are at the top of my discussion list , as well. Tylenol doesn't work for me either and I worry about rebound headaches with Tylenol.
  13. I also have had migraines for several years, nearly daily for the past four years now. I'm concerned about what pain meds I'll be able to take post -op since ibuprofen meds can cause ulcers. Any ideas?
  14. Hi Sue. Thanks for offering to mentor. I have read the comments you have given to others and you seem to be someone who puts a lot of thought into your answers and are very knowledgeable. I am due for surgery in about 3 weeks. I don't feel like I have questions for you right now but if you are willing to swap email addresses, I would love to add you to my support network.
  15. I would also like to join.
  16. I have known my surgery date for a few weeks now but just found this group. I did find a couple of other ladies who have the same surgery date as me and we have been emailing each other a few times a week. Any additional support is welcome and appreciated! I am having the bypass surgery, as are the others who I'm emailing with. My wls class is on wed Dec 3rd. I'm sure we will discuss vitamins and protein shakes, also the requirements for the liquid diet. I have my vitamins ordered and also have my protein shakes. I haven't bought much else because I don't know the specific requirements being made by my doctor. I feel ready for the surgery- definitely excited and looking forward to the changes that are ahead.
  17. I'm thinking about getting a personal blender, like the nutri - bullet. Is this something I will use much post-op?
  18. Marie. When is your surgery? I'm scheduled for Dec 23rd.
  19. there are a few of us who have Dec 23rd surgery dates. We have formed a small support group. Let me know if you are interested in swapping emails and sharing your thoughts.
  20. I have my pre op class on Dec 3rd. I meet with the doctor on the 15th and start my liquid diet on Dec 9th. How much overall weight do you have to lose? I have about 100 pounds. You can also use my personal email at be_satisfied@live.com.
  21. I also have the same surgery date. Would be interested in exchanging email address to be a buddy/support for each other.
