  1. Dec 18th Sleever here. Down 21 pounds and in a stall for almost 4 weeks which is making me a lil crazy. Feel so much better and relatively no pain or issues. Still getting used to my limits and new stomach. But I'm trying not to over~stress about it. My regular Dr says to chill out and let the surgery do its job. Good luck to you all!
  2. Thank you so much. Luck to you and all as well. ????
  3. I'm blessed. However I started with I made a decision that was of epic proportion. I asked that no one judge me, it's not up for a vote count But asked for their support. I did tell them that I would absolutely be willing to meet with them each privately. My youngest took it badly & doesn't agree with my way of telling her. Totally supportive but was hurt by my delivery. I am sorry your family would not be supportive. I am thankful mine is. ????????
  4. Greetings All ~ I want to thank you all for your support. I gathered my family members in the front room and broke the news. As I was half way thru I started crying (what put me over the edge was my almost 21 yr old daughter with tears streaming down her face) as I was saying my speech. Honestly the remainder if my speech is a blur to me but my mom said I covered all the bases. I then gave all the family members a " family gift" as I do every Xmas. This year it was a stainless steel silver band with black enamel. Telling them just in case I wanted them all to know how much they mean to me and that I love them. Other than all the stunned faces they appeared to get on the me train and claimed to offer anything I need. End of story I'm relieved that I no longer have the secret and got the best possible outcome. No judgement!! Again thank you all for your support. Y'all know exactly how this feels in your own worlds. ????????
  5. Thank you! I know your right. But being a single mom of two opinionated grown daughters it sure would be nice. I think they will be the toughest oddly enough. Thanks for the support. ????
  6. Well folks, today's the day I'm telling my entire family of my decision to have surgery 12/18. No one other than my mom knows as of this moment. What I fear they won't understand is that my primary has stated that if I didn't make this decision I wouldn't be here next year. It's really not about being thin .... It's really about saving my life. Wish me luck and hope I get their support. ????
  7. Since it's late I will text ya in the morning. Tomorrow I'm having early thanksgiving and telling my family of my decision. I am a great text buddy ????
  8. Long term goal ~ think of it as making the best choice so you can see your lovely children grow and being a better healthier husband for your wife. I am presuming she is in full support. I'm making my life change towards healthy on Dec. 18th. Best of luck. Stay Calm & Carry On
  9. Pads are the safer way. Tell nurses! Good luck to you. ????
  10. Matt ~ You can do this. The good news is you don't have to do it alone. Stay Calm and Carry On! ????
  11. Best of luck to you and were right behind you. I wish you all of the best and much prayers. ????
  12. I'm with you 100% ...... How long have you been going thru this process waiting for surgery? My primary and I spoke about it about 3 months ago and I hopped on it and got the ball rolling. First surgeon visit was end of October so I'm blessed that it's moved quickly however, I'm totally overwhelmed at times. Fine others. ????
  13. Forgive me. Congrats on your date. We will be right with each other. Another prayer never hurts!
  14. Thanks for your kind words and input. food has always been a celebration in my family As we are out to Breakfast they are deciding where to go for dinner. I also admit I like the taste. I'm an emotional eater and I have a lot of emotions. I have been successful in the past with weight loss but now things are at a health risk and drastic times take drastic measures. I'm ready but full of crazy thoughts. It could be that I haven't told anyone other than my mother whom is helping me self pay. SNL ~ ahhhh the old days. I miss them so but it could be that my roots are from Chi~town????
  15. Oh trust me it is clearly not my intention to pack on pounds. Today I feel guilty of everything I put in my mouth such as roasted turkey with no skin. I realize I'm in a slight panic mode since everything is moving I'm sure I'm overwhelmed. Thanks for your input. Most appreciated.
  16. Ok folks - I found out my surgery date in Thursday. I'm thrilled, Dec. 17th come on. However it is Saturday an I realize I have 11 days till pre op liquid (2) meals with Protein dinner for 3 weeks which starts on Thanksgiving. Which I thankful to have a date. Here's my dilemma .... I find myself feeling guilty for eating and thinking of what I want to have prior vs starting now. Keep in mind my surgeon has specifically told me NOT TO DIET until pre op time. Am I overthinking or going insane? Please discuss .... Talk amongst yourselves ..... Those of you who get the reference will know how old I am. ????????
  17. Woman in Florida gives you Georgians a shout out and good luck!
  18. My pre op diet is for 3 weeks and is two shake meals and one high protein meal at night. Ironically I start on Thanksgiving. ????????????
  19. Only positive thing about self pay is cutting through red tape criteria. ????
