  1. I am literally gagging on my morning protein shake! After doing so well getting all my fluids and protein in from day #1!! I'm upset. Plus I guess because I THOUGHT I was doing so well physically, I guess I pushed myself too far, and set myself back to feeling worse than I did the day after surgery. My incisions don't hurt or anything, but my a** is draggin! My 15 year old daughter looked at me as we were walking into walmart yesterday and said "Mom...you look like a strung out druggie". ???? Nice. She said my eyes were just really sunken in and dark all the way around. I am drained, which is making it hard for me to get my walks in, I'm bored with full liquids, I don't think I can swallow another sip of protein. Ugh!! But on the flip side I've been losing an average of 3 pounds a day. I started my 2week diet at 247, and the morning of surgery id was 237, but when I got home, I was back up to 247 from all the fluids they pumped into me during my hospital stay. I lost back down to 237 four days post op, and this morning I weighed in at 225. So I am making progress, but I'm in some kind of mood and feelin sorry for myself *sigh*
  2. This entire thread disturbs me. I've been married for 23 years...we've raised 4 kids together and are now even grandparents together. I love my husband. It breaks my heart to think that the results of my surgery could come between us when so many things that were designed to destroy us, didn't touch us. I have heard that those of us who undergo this life changing procedure change in radical ways, not only physically, but most important, EMOTIONALLY. I don't want to change so much that I cause my husband not to love me anymore. I worry about this.
  3. 1. Will I EVER be allowed to drink again while eating a meal? 2. Why do we have to "sip"? 3. What are the ways I could stretch my sleeve and not realize it?
  4. I just took 3 pills (multivitamin and 2 daily medications) at the same time. I didn't even think. The second I swallowed, I thought "oh crap". Will I live? Will I block something up? Eeeeek!! Please tell me its ok, just don't make a habit of it....
  5. Have you had surgery yet, @@BitterSweet??
  6. I got one. It is printed in pretty colorful font, the card is lamenated, and my name is printed on it. I've not eaten out since I had surgery, so I've not used it. But I imagine id just eat something off hubby's plate. I may use it if I was out with my gf's.
  7. That dress is STELLAR! WOWZA! So I'm thinking if it doesn't fit, you can always have it altered. I'm betting it will fit though...but how awesome if you had to have it taken in !?!?! Congratulations, girl!
  8. Too good to be true! Today is my one week surgeversary. I was 247 when beginning my two week pre op "torture", and I was down to 237 the morning of my surgery. Today, I am down to 229!!! I have had the easiest recovery and transition period that anyone can imagine. I had a large hiatal hernia repaired during my sleeve surgery, which added a bit to my post op soreness, but I was up walking two hours after I was out of recovery. I have been walking 3 miles a day since coming home, and haven't had to take any pain medicine since leaving the hospital. I have had no problem getting my daily fluid or protein in, I've developed a new taste for yogurt (ABHORED IT BEFORE). The only thing I've had even the slightest issue with is jello. I love it, but I think its just too thick for me at this point. Two bites is about all I can handle before it triggers my full feeling. I have had zero cravings and no real hunger, let alone head hunger. Food doesn't interest me in the slightest although I know I need to eat to live. Before surgery, I wasnervous that tv would trigger head hunger/cravings. Last night it seemed that every commercial was for food or the holidays. Believe it or not, my reaction was quite the opposite. I almost gagged over some things that USED to be favorites of mine. I also began thinking about serving sizes, and how in the world we get to the points in our lives that a SERVING isnt enough. It was a measurementthat was developed for a reason...its all we need to give our bodies fuel. Why and how did we begin thinking we had to clean up our plates that was loaded down with enough "servings" to feed 4 people?!?!? How gluttonous!! At this pount, it makes me physically sick to remember my eating habits...so sad that i never connected the dots before. I don't know what I expected after the procedure, but I certainly didn't assume it would be an easy journey...and it may not always be, but for the present its been a walk in the park. I am BEYOND blessed and I'm so grateful for this opportunity to get healthy and LIVE again. Good luck and prayers going up for each of you on this journey along side me.
  9. AWESOME!!! Who did your surgery? Dr. Chaudhari with Carolina Surgical Associates did mine at Bon Secours Saint Francis. I'm tickled to death you're so close! I'd love to get to know you better. I'm not originally from SC..we just moved here in June 2013, so I don't know many people anyway...would love love love to have a friend that's sharing the same experience as me.
  10. YESSSS! That's probably what my nurse meant for "awhile". I'll wait a couple years just to be on the safe side! LOL!

  12. Thank you each for your reply My 15 year old daughter, 19 year old son, and husband are doing really well helping me (they are just as excited for my new life as I am!)..however, I'm finding that I'm a little bored during these days of recovery. I've been walking A LOT, but because I'm not cooking and keeping house like I've always done, I feel like I'm spinning my wheels during the daylight hours. It's getting better..I'm just anxious I guess good news is I'm down 14 pounds! Wooohoooo!!! Thanks again for your quick responses. ????
  13. I was sleeved this past Tuesday October 21. I also had a hiatal hernia repair. I feel fantastic, and I'm wondering when I can start vacuuming again? I remember the nurse specifically telling me not to push the vacuum around for awhile. It's been a week...how long is "awhile"?
  14. I was sleeved on Tuesday, October 21, 2014. I'm from Simpsonville, Sc.
