  1. Hey You, GRR I just wrote a huge post and some way, lost it all! Anyway, I'm very happy for you too! Now that you have the Dr's approval.. You just have to wait for the golden stamp of approval from the insurance comp.. and we'll be both on our way through this process. I'm happy to have a "buddy" to get through this with. About the pre-op.. I'm lucky, I don't require to have one! I did, however, have to lose ten pounds before I could get a surgery date or even meet with the surgeon. From what the nutrititionist says, I am the first patient in that program that had such a low weight loss requirement. She said that usually the Dr's Assistant sets weightloss goals of 20 - 50 pounds.. depending on each persons situation and weight. I think that is crazy! I wouldn't need the band if I could drop 50 pounds on my own and keep it off. They give people HMR product to help them out.. It's like a liquid diet drink. OHH the other thing.. I only had to drop ten pounds.. BUT.. I have to keep it off or it's a deal breaker with the Dr..... NO EXCUSES! I was like they'll let ya slide.. and nope they don't. I went to my support group and there were 2 people scheduled the same week, so we expected them to not be at the meeting.. and they were because they didnt' keep the weight off. One person gained 3 pounds.. the other gained quite a bit. So i'm keeping it off and trying to still lose more. I'm so excited but I'm scared at the same time. I have only told my husband about this surgery. I had a bonfire at my house.. inviting close family and friends.. I planned on telling them that I was to be banded.. WELL thank God I didn't. While chatting, one person brought up that a girl at work had WLS and how she took the easy way out and so on.. ALL NEG. COMMENTS. I was taking back a little because these people were so kind and loving and caring about others. I then decided that It was best for me to zip it and not say anything. It hurt me in a way because I really thought I'd have a strong support group through them. I know if I told them now, they'd try to support me.. But I just can't get passed the fact that I know EXACTLY how they REALLY feel and I'm all set with false support, I want people to be truly happy for me.. not because they feel they need to, because we are childhood friends. They will never understand because NONE of them have EVER been overweight in their entire live, including pregnancy. They all range from sizes 0 - 8. I'm the fatty of the bunch! Must be my personality. LOL Jk.. I know they do love me. Anyway.. I'm also scared because every time I go under, for surgery, I have a problem with urine retention and iratic blood pressure. The urine retention stinks because I can't go pee.. So I need to get a straight cath. every so often through out the day.. so my bladder doesn't burst.. AND the BP issue is scary and weird. It get's really low, along with my heart rate. My BP last time I was under was 114/53 and my pulse was 34. Then while recovering my BP shot up to 200/110 and went up and down and all around for a few days.. along with the pulse being low too. So I was kept in the hospital for 5 days all together. I'll hope it's different this time, but it has been this way always. The Dr. tell me that had he not known my history.. he'd be freaking out in the ER. I dont' know ihow true all this is, because I'm not sure how the anestisia (SP) reacts with BP and pulse. I do know the BP is low and so is the heart rate.. but.. Okay.. I've been ranting like a lunitic, writing all this.... Sorry.. this is just my thoughts of today. We'll both be okay and I want to keep in touch. We'll get through this all.. just fine! We'll be melting this weight off in no time! GO Sista GO :scared:
  2. Pugchick, I'm glad to hear you had a safe surgery and that you are home, feeling pretty good. Congrats to you for making it to bandland! Thanks for the update on how you're feeling and what to expect. (that goes for all of you who reported since being banded) It makes it so much easier and less stressful, for me anyhow. Well, best of luck. Pretty soon you'll be melting away.

  6. Hi Everyone, Okay.. here's my lowdown. I love Jr, Smoke and Waltrip (pissed that he isn't with Jr. anymore), and many more.. I just named my fav. I absolutely pray every Sunday that Jeff Gordon... bumps the wall or cries so hard that he falls off the track, but never for him to get hurt in anyway.. Just enough for him to be out of th race. I will be going to New Hampshire speedway in two weeks and again in on Sept. 17. We go to Daytona when we have a chance. My parents live there and my Mom is a nurse at the Halifax Medical and she covers the race on medical camp (we get free tickets). So we get to go down in the tents and such. She was one of the nurses who was involved with Dale Sr at the hospital. It's cool going to Daytona.. I've got to meet many people. Anyway.. Happy Racing! Let's pray no one gets hurt this year!

  22. Now that most of us have shared how much we love . Where are the places you enjoy doing this BESIDES THE BEDROOM? What was your favorite experience? Mine was.. on top of the snow cap White Mountains, in NH. My husband was so turned on by this.. and he was very surprised. I just attacked him.. pulled his pants down and the.... . It was such a romantic site. LOL Okay.. I'm not trying to make this a porno site.. It's just interesting to know how many people actually do this in public places, whether they are alone or not. PLEASE NOTE, IF I HAVE CROSSED THE LINE.. PLEASE LET ME KNOW AND I'LL DELETE THIS POST. IT'S NOT MEANT TO DISRESPECT ANYONE. IT'S MEANT TO ADD SOME MORE FUN TO THIS THREAD. Once again, First I flash my and then my fat Then I get my and my toy . I then start and then SPLATT.... After all this.. he best help me out and do me a favor
  23. YIKES!!! I'm glad all the BCBS are not the same. I have BcBs of Mass. and it's really a good plan. They cover lap. bypass and lapband. the requirements are bmi 40 and over or bmi of 35 and over with 2 co morbid diseases (which they list on the website). I had to show I had a weight issue for five years or more. There is no six months of supervised diets. For, me it was a pretty quick process, even though I was complaining that it took forever. My total start date to surgery date is around 3 months. The insurance company has 30 days to approve or deny my request of surgery. I was giving a date before hand, so the ins. comp. said it would take 15 days. I'm not saying this is a piece of cake. I know the insurance company is a hard ball player in reguards to the co-morbid diseases and it's only going to get worse. I hear they are changing the rules come April of next year. Just for those who may ask.. My BMI is 38.8. I've had several back surgeries, I have a intrathecal pump implanted for pain, very high BP, joint pain in the back and knees. I have not been giving a letter of approval just yet.. BUT my Dr. has been told I was approved through the case manager. When I called BCBS, I'm told .. still pending. BUT the customer rep. stated that the case managers work with the hospitals cooridinaters and most likely know a heck of lot more info. than she has on her screen. The rep then went ahead and told me that my pre op testing and surgeon meeting would not have been approved for next week, if I wasn't approved for the surgery. Sorry for the long post, just wanted to make sure I didn't leave anything out. Anyhow, I'm sorry to hear that so many people are having issues with insurance. It's amazing that they will pay for meds, testing and everything else that relates to being overweight.. but they won't give us a chance to use a tool to help prevent or even stop these problems. WLS isn't new.. you would think this would be pretty much standard by now. I do think that there are some people sandbagging the system.. but there are far more who truly need this and to be denied.. doesn't make sense. One last thing, I was able to submit WW payment slip, Diet workshop, South beach diet online payment info., gym receipts and many more. I'd shove it all in their face. Also.. a huge plus is to write a letter stating why you are a good candidate for surgery. I went as far back as my teen years. I called my Mom and she gave me info. that I didnt' know about. I also got my pediatrician notes. My Mom has a copy of my file.. neurotic or not.. LOL :update: AS OF TODAY, JULY 6TH, AT 3PM. I HAVE BEEN 100% APPROVED.
