I have a question? When i started the journey i was weighting 207 pounds i did the NUT guidelines and since i kept getting denied i was crazy to go this clinic for hcg shots and 500 calories a day i spent $800.00 i know i know crazy i went down to 185 pounds and that is when i gpt the approve letter. My bmi still 31 do you think the dr will cancel surgery though it was approved? I don't want this to happen. I want to finish what i started in colombia i want to be 135 pounds!

I have Cigna and i am having a revision. Like you, i had the same issues and don't be surprise if you get denied. But do not get discourage. Go to their face book page send them a disappointment anger frustrated letter"calling for help" and they will assign someone to help. File all the appeals, learn your policy and find A loop pool. If there is one that you believe you can fight file an appeal with your state insurance board make as much noise you can. The point is to find a reason of why they should not denied it. Talk to your pcp you will succeed. Good luck

I got approved because i wouldn't let go the fact the excuses they gave me weren't on the policy. I am an hr manager so i directly contacted the benefits administrator from my employer and made a bit of noise in corporate lol!

They said it was not medically necessary. And that i had no evidence i follow up with my doc in colombia. It was nothing but excuses but it got approved. ????

Cigna denied my surgery 3 times until i went all the way up to the appeal board the highest one. I summited a complaint with the insurance board nj. I harass them in face book lol! To the point i got a wonderful health advocate and when the dr and i thought it was going to be denied, i got the approval!! Don't give up ! Cigna is known to denied these surgery ! Complaint send letter to whoever is willing to hear.

So happy guys! I told my coworkers and they are so supportive.

Hi! I am also a patient of Dr. Nusbaum. I had the sleve in my country Colombia. The dr is great and his team excellent. I Am schedule nov 18th for a revision. Wanda is excellent i had to fight with Cigna for 6 months to approve the surgery And Wanda fought for me! I cant wait to finish what started.
