  1. Everyone looks so good. This makes me so excited. I can't wait until I have good pics like you guys to submit.
  2. For me, it came down to price when I chose Mexico. I couldn't get the surgery even as a cash pay customer in the US and the turn around time was 3 months. I called Mexico, booked and was done in less than a week. I now have this huge line of credit open with care credit and reporting. It helps my utilization and I guess I can use it at the dentist or something but still, I couldn't use it in Mexico.
  3. And let me add WOW! I took a picture of myself the day of surgery... then just took a pic. WOW! I have a chin again,
  4. 6 miles isn't that impressive, I was doing 12 before the surgery. It's not really that far. It does get boring so I try to go different routes, even make prescription drop offs, go by the post office, bank etc. I also carry a stun gun with me. Never needed it... but it makes me feel safe lol. I worked today and had no issues. I thought I wouldn't be able to handle it but it went just fine. I don't even feel like I had surgery a week ago. In my mind, if I keep pushing, I'll reach my goal sooner. If I feel like I can't do it, I'm not going to let myself get hurt i'll def. stop and take a rest.
  5. Oh yes. I'm taking the Vitamins like crazy. Prior to surgery, I had been walking up to 12 miles a day for the last six months. The doctors have said, walk, walk, walk. I don't have any re-flux or gas issues. No pain. I'm not taking any pain killers. I'm doing 2 miles in the morning, 2 miles mid day and 2 miles before it gets dark. I have a fit bit and keep track of it that way. I want to enter the 250's this week on the scale side. I just weighed and i'm at 261.3 . By Friday I want to be around 255 to 250. I know I should be checking the scale so much, but I'm tracking progress. I weighed 274 the day or surgery. I'm starting to see results in my face already. Hopefully by the end of the month I'm in the 240's.
  6. I'm exhausted all the time right now and I know its my body adjusting to what is changing. I'm walking 6 miles a day. Surgery was October 22, 2014. I take Ambien and I have trouble falling asleep, even after being so exhausted. I also find myself waking up earlier now. I wake up on average around 4am. I leave around 6am for my first walk. Then home by 7, shower and out the door to work by 7:45. In the middle of the night I wake up so dehydrated. I have a cup of Water by my bedside which I have to refill every night. Tonight I was so thirsty that I went to the store and got more gatorade. I'm drinking plenty of fluids during the day, but I'm finding after I got to sleep, I dehydrate easily. I also don't want to drink too much before I go to bed, because I hate that feeling of having to get up to pee constantly. Does anyone else have these issues post op? I'm also cold all the time. I woke up and the house is 70 degrees and i turned the heater on to 74. I used to think 70 was hot.
  7. The hospital I was at was brand new. Older equipment doesn't mean the doctor can't do the job.
  8. I guess I jumped ahead of the train on this one... let's just say... all clear. LOL
  9. aww. That's so sweet. When I was in Mexico, a man told me a story about him and his wife. they had been married for 22 years. He said he was around my size when they met. She was a hottie and in shape. He was pretty big. He said his biggest worry all these years was that his wife would leave him because of his weight... then he said he realized that their love was stronger than he imagined because she was right there with him while he was getting surgery and told him it was his choice and she loves him regardless of weather he does the surgery or not. He told me that they both even dieted together, she lost weight and he gained. She still stood by him. He said that he hopes everyone can find their true love like he did and he was pretty dang lucky.
  10. I'm not constipated. Smooth Move is my favorite tea. I was just wondering if it should be coming anytime soon lol. They told me all liquids for first week, Protein drinks second week, purred foods third week, fourth week introduce certain foods at a time. I was hoping someone had better insight. I also asked MBC and waiting to hear from them.
  11. I'm loving this website. I feel like its a no judgement zone and I can have conversations with intelligent people who aren't going to race to some unfounded conclusion.
  12. I should say... consuming all liquids. Surgery was Wednesday 10/22... is it okay to eat scrambled eggs yet?
  13. Sorry for the subject line... I find it humorous... but its true.... def. not constipated but wondering if I should be worried. I'm doing 6 miles a day... drinking all liquids... wish I could eat soft veggies or something but I'm not... Weight is flying off but its gotta be through sweat and urine and of course building more muscle. Will it feel like normal?
  14. Hubby's can be jerks. I personally think Jealousy is a turn on lol. I love it because it means they care.
  15. Well, change starts with people. I'd write a letter to the head of your department and point out how much is being spent on these things and then includes the pros and cons of gastric sleeve surgery. I'd point out that they would stand to save more money in the long run if they would offer an incentive to help you pay for it. Even if they don't cover it all, even half the cost of surgery in Mexico is a huge step. I also erred on the side of caution and took out large signature loan just to be on the safe side. I ended up not needing it so I'll pay it back over a 6 month period to stay in the good graces of my bank. They don't like it when you take out a loan and then pay it right off. Another point I was going to make, most people have decent credit and can put the cost on a credit card or take out a loan for the surgery in Mexico.
  16. I'm sitting here dreaming of being able to eat normal again... of course not the portion sizes. I'm going back and forth between a few bites of pizza or a cheese burger. They both sound so yummy right now. Just wondering if anyone else had a craving and celebrated once they got past the post op and the special diet? Chick Fil-a chicken nuggets also sound so incredible. I want 6 months to hurry up and pass.
  17. May I ask, to everyone who has replied, are you exercising and if so, what are you doing?
  18. I am looking at the bottom line... in the long term, it could save more on health insurance costs. I think more corporate companies need to realize this. If I were the CEO of a huge million dollar company in the US, I definitely would not cover WLS in the US, but I'd offer an incentive for having it done in Mexico and also have an agreement worked out with certain providers...even airline carries so you get discounts etc. That's better than nothing. I say I would not cover it in the US because it is too expensive. Our health care system in the US is a wreck.
  19. I think its intollerance. Accuse the person of being racist and their tone changes really fast. I think I received better care in Mexico than I would have at any US Hospital. Don't forget, we have thousands of malpractice suits filed every single day in hospitals across the US. Mistakes happen, but the US really can't put down the Mexican Medical Professionals. If I were a doctor and had the choice between working in the US or going across the border each day, I'd go across the border each day, pay less in taxes, do volume and still enjoy life. It makes cents in my head. All of the doctors in Mexico are guaranteed payment. In the US they aren't.
  20. I keep thinking I've eat so much, when in reality its all liquids. I'm still losing weight everyday....I'm just peeing like a race horse. The only thing I'd relate to being solid would be the scrambled eggs in the morning. I've had conflicting info on weather I can eat those or not. 1 eggs fills me up.
  21. Believe me... The statement that no one likes the cute fat boys... soooo off... LOL. I can admit I'm a little bit conceited and for the most part I've never been told no. I'm extremely charming and even when I was at a high of 320 lbs and I was single after a 10 year relationship... I met someone in less than a month and November makes 2 years for us. In that one month time period, I went on 10 dates and all 10 wanted something long term... I had to weed out the bad and find who I was really looking for. So I gotta say on that end, don't be insecure. Usually the little people like us because we're great heaters in the winter time... we obviously know how to cook or can get take out really quick etc. I used to love to keep the AC on 60... now 78 is considered cool for me. I'm cold all the time now but I bought a mattress warmer so hopefully it'll go un-noticed that i don't produce as much body heat lol. I'm engaged to a pencil stick. They say opposites attract and I think its true. My last relationship did end because I got so big... but that was for the best, no regrets. I keep asking... are you sure your still going to love me in six months when I'm not as big... the answer I keep getting is yes... and apparently my height was the big turn on. I've heard that husbands get very secure with the wife being larger because they feel like they don't have to worry... they do love you but they don't think anyone else wants someone bigger... then you lose the weight, your a hottie all over again, he's looking at you differently, getting paranoid and jealous and then bam, he thinks your cheating or he just can't get it up anymore... so then I think you need to sit him down like a child... give him a pep talk... tell him that you feel your relationship is lacking in the sex department (this is me being devious ), you expect him to improve his performance and start getting testosterone injections... and I gotta say that stuff is amazing... a few treatments, confidence returns and then you'll have to keep him on a leash and blinders on him like a horse.
  22. I was 274 and I'm 6 7'. My BMI is 29.7 right now. I can't wait to reach 200 to 220 lbs.
  23. Just wondering if anyone has become single as a result of the weight loss from their stomach sleeve? Just wondering if anyone's spouses have become jealous because of the weight loss.
