  1. Can someone add me to the group? I got a fb message that said I'd be added but never saw anything.
  2. Isn't it a great feeling? They called me with my approval Thursday while I was out of town attending a funeral! A bright part of a somber day!
  3. Good stuff! What else folks?
  4. I'm scheduled for surgery 3/16. As I begin to prepare for the liquid phase, hospitalization and surgery I wondered what the veterans wish they would have known ahead of time. If you could tell yourself one thing about the process, what would you say?
  5. Hi all. My surgery date is 3/16 with Dr. Gedeon at Bristol Hospital. So excited, nervous, scared, ready! Lol
  6. Finally have my date, March 16th! This hasn't been the slowest process but it sure seemed like it at the time! So excited!
  7. Update- finally got my surgery date - 3/16! Whew!
  8. Oh happy day! I think the last time I posted, I was frustrated at the time the pre-work was taking. Well, the sleep study was last week - no sleep apnea! So the office prepared my approval submission and sent it Friday! They aren't concerned about approval so fingers crossed!
  9. You can also find turkey broth this time of year!
  10. After researching for some time, I officially started the process October 9th. I've since done my 1 required nutritional visit, my blood work, chest x-ray, psych eval, egd, cardiology consult and sleep study consult. I have to go for the treadmill stress test next week and the sleep study in January. The Sleep folks have me on the wait list and expect to get me in in the next few weeks as they have lots of cancellations. From there, submitting to insurance (which the office thinks will be simple given my plan). They take about 5 days to get approvals back to the office. I know things are moving quite fast for me compared to others. I just guess I'm just impatient. I feel like a kid counting down to Christmas...
  11. Congrats! Can you share any details on how you got it approved?
  12. Good luck to you! Praying this will give you the peace of mind and comfort you deserve!
  13. Hubby is from Bim so the carb temptation is scaring me. He wants rice and bread with everything! I'm trying to get into the mindset now but man it's tough!
  14. Having surgery with Dr. Gedeon in Bristol. Shooting for a late December/January sleeve date.
  15. Just popping in to say hi and follow this thread!
  16. Hello! We are targeting a January date. My insurance only requires one visit with a dietician and that's done. I've done my blood work. Going for the chest x-ray and psych eval tomorrow. Waiting to be scheduled for the sleep study and cardiologist visit. Endoscopy on the 31st of this month. Insurance takes about 5 days for an approval and he's scheduling surgeries into November right now. I'd rather go first of the year as I'll have more personal time from work if needed. Hoping all of these screenings come back fine.
