I have the same problem with my mom. When I told her my surgery date was set, she said she hoped I came to my senses before then. I politely informed her that an Ebola breakout would have to shut down the hospital for me to change my mind. I am fortunate that my husband fully supports me as well as co workers...I teach in a school where three people have already had WLS and I'll be next! I am ready to move on with my life and let my mom see that this was the right decision. I just pray hard that there is no complications so I don't have to hear the "I told you so"

I am a teacher too and surgery is scheduled for Nov. 24- thanksgiving break. We only have 3 weeks after until Christmas break. I'm really considering staying home until January.

She gave us a protein carb pairing diet that has really worked. I lost 9# in 10 days.

My surgery is Nov. 24 and my birthday is the 20th. The NUT always encourages a cheat day so I'll be taking advantage of it then....but I'm avoiding it now!

I have a little crafty business making tshirts. I told my husband I will make new tshirts until I can buy a large! Then I'll shop!

I just tried mixing low fat Greek yogurt with sugar free pudding and it was yummy! At what point post op can you have something like that? After liquid, mushy stage?

I'll be having my surgery in November (still waiting on final date)! What are the must have items to put on the shopping list for after surgery? What's your favorite protein shakes? My Nut told us to use powder and mix with milk....do any of you do that?

Not yet. They didn't call yesterday. I'm calling on my lunch break today!

The nutritionist at the Office I'm using gave us a great tool. I lost 10 pounds in 12 days. I was more than excited! Basically, you just pair a Protein and carb with a fruit or veggie about 5 times a day. I am eating more often but much less than usual. I haven't had a soda or candy and cut wayyyyy back on sweets as of July 1 when I made the decision to have WLS.

I understand! I've done everything and they have everything. They just want this last appointment as a precaution. I'll do my pre op test that day as well she said. So, hoping for the best!!!!! I hope all goes well to get yours by the end of the year as well!!

I'm praying for November! I went last week to my final nutrition appointment. Yesterday the insurance coordinator called me and said that my insurance has been denying people due to the length of time between appointments so I have to go one more time.....Nov. 13!!!! But, she said she will get the surgical coordinator to call me and schedule tentatively for the week of Thanksgiving!!!! She said my insurance approves in a matter of days. So, im praying it works out because my deductible of $1000 starts over Jan. 1!!

I'm going to stay off until probably after Christmas break. If I go back before it will only be a week.

My insurance requires 3 months of weight management/nutrition and psych evaluation. I thought I was all done and waiting on approval. Drs office called me today and said they have been getting denials from my insurance company so they want me to do one more appointment before they submit! But, not until Nov. 13!!! I am a teacher and was hoping to have surgery during thanksgiving break. She said they will tentatively schedule, but I'm getting discouraged. My deductible starts over Jan 1 and it's over $1000 so I sure hope this goes off without a hitch!

Today's psych evaluation is the final hoop! They said my dr will have the report next week....then it's off to insurance. Hoping for end of November!

If she didn't live so close to me I wouldn't have told her! I know that once I'm over recovery time and losing weight she will be ok!
