Is this pain normal - one week out?
This also happened to me. I bought some compression garments, I found some postpartum baby belts that helped hold and support my tummy around that incision site. I even went back into the doc and she said that everything was normal. That was the incision where they do most of the pulling and stretching to take to stomach out. She said what I was feeling was the stitches that are pulling on those muscles and that they don't really start to hurt until you are up and moving more. She said by 5-6 weeks post op they would dissolve, or some movement I would make would "pop" the stitch. Sure enough, I was at the beach trying to clam and I felt the stitch pop. and immediately there was no more pain. I totally get where you are coming from though, get some compression garments ( Spanx can work, they weren't tight enough where I needed them to be) and unfortunately all you can do is wait.

@Susan11803 I had it in a later post... sorry, it probably was just buried in the feed. You are a very organized person for keeping track of all this.

@@Zzzombrie That was my issue too. It was perfect! I was convinced everyone should get one after having this surgery! !!

4 weeks out can I wear a spanx for stomach support!
I used a post-partum belt. It was the best thing EVER! !!I liked that I could tighten it in just the right spot.

So hungry
Oh gosh, I was never told anything about not eating popcorn. That does make sense though. I had no discomfort or trouble at all, guess I was lucky.

So hungry
I am 1 month post op. U have lost 35 pounds and been doing great with my new stomach. However, today I was so hungry all day. Not head hungry, actually hungry. I made good choices all day, tuna fish, hardboiled egg, broccoli, chicken taco soup, sugar free pudding. And then a student brought in some popcorn, I was very alarmed that I ate probably a cups worth and I didn't feel any discomfort or tightness. So far that is the mot food I have been able to eat at once. Doesn't that seem like my stomach shouldn't be able to hold that? I haven't had a day where I actually feel hungry so much. It really scared me. had anyone else had days like this? Does it pass?

Teachers and Time Off
I had mine over winter break as well. I think I would have been fine at 2 weeks, just tired.

Soreness at incision site
It was an internal pop...I saw my doc on monday and she said it wasn't a pulled or strained muscle, it was where she stitched the muscle back together and that it was pulling when I move. This is why it didn't bother me until I started being more active, then I noticed it all the time. She said I would wither do something to "pop "the atitch, or it would dissolve between 4 -6 weeks... I am at 4.5

Soreness at incision site
So I ended up get a postpartum pregnancy belt. It was THE BEST thing ever!!! It held constant compression on that one area and allowed me to be off my pain kills and go about my daily life with little thought to my incision osin. Yesterday, my stitch popped and I am totally pain free. I went from one say being in pain and needing a pregnancy belt to the next day, pain free and clamming on the beach. So thankful that part is over!

Soreness at incision site
Today it was so bad I called the dr. And was almost in tears. If I removed my hand from applying pressure, the pain was so bad I could barely take it. The dr. Said, it sounded like I strained it. not sure how, as I woke up with this intense pain. I am back on the Oxy, wearing my Spanx, and he advised to alternate ice and hot pack. Grrr. I thought I was healing so nicely. What a painful setback.

Any teachers out there? Mixed emotions!
I'm a teacher too, and I totally suggest that you go for it over spring break! It's only one year that you will be taking that kind of time close to summer. It's for your health. This is a time you need to put yourself first.

@slimgal2015... thank you for you input! I was sleeved on the 17th, so hopefully just one more week. It definitely is anytime I engage my abs. Who knew, I thought I didn't have any glad to know they are still there.
