  1. I can't wait for that feeling. My athlete cousin and his athlete.girlfriend are planning to train me for a narathon....Idk about that but a 3k then a 5k are in my future!!
  2. #sms724 ..50 g Protein seems low. I've not been sleeved yet but my post op instructions say that I should be getting at least 60 but shoot for 80-90 maybe up to 110. I get 90+ in now. 90 from shakes and about 20 from the one meal a day I can eat. Is 50 what your doctor recommended?
  3. So surgery is on 10 Feb ( my beautiful grandma's 91st birthday!!). I had labs done back in October and my cholesterol was elevated and I was pre diabetic. I'm ending week 3 of my pre-op diet and I've lost about 15 pounds. Just had those same labs done over on Tuesday and guess what.....EVERYTHING IS NORMAL!!!!! It's amazing what a little weight loss can do for your overall health! Makes my upcoming rebirth more exciting!!!
  4. Congratulations!! You look amazing!!!
  5. I did keep some things to have taken in but the dress from the wedding I wouldn't want to have taken in. It would be easy for my mom to make.
  6. I have not yet had surgery either but the journey thus far has taught me a lot about myself. Despite my issues with the psych doc I chose to do the evaluation, he said a lot that opened my eyes to my habits and tendencies. Knowing more about me has made my prayers different. Having friends and family who are supportive prayer warriors who don't care what I think and will tell me what I need to hear and not what I want to hear is a huge plus for me on this journey. I have also been introduced to food Addicts in Recovery Anonymous and though I've only been to one meeting so far, it was an extremely eye opening experience. I try to live by the serinity prayer and the Lord's prayer. It's funny, I started putting g those prayers together 20 some years ago as a child when u went to support a family member in alcoholics anonymous. I didn't fully understand their power until recently and they are a great comfort for me.
  7. @@Pac-woman I was thinking about dresses too. I would love to have some wrap dresses because they kind of adjust with you. I used to have 5 or 6 when I was like a 12-14 but that was like 10th grade lol
  8. ...myself as a thin person. I think that in the past I have failed so much that my brain is trying to sabotage me before I've had the chance to even try. It's not going to happen...I WILL BE SUCCESSFUL!!! But it is really hard for me to envision myself differently. I can't wait to see what I look like 2 months from now, 5 months from now, 8 months from now, a year from now. I went through some clothes today that I had set aside for my post surgery loss and I didn't want to throw away all the new clothes I bought this time last year for a cruise...but they were all 3x and 22w sizes. I had some really cute dresses that I had a hard time parting with. Including the one I wore to my brother's wedding....I almost cried over that one. Why didn't anyone tell me how emotional that would be?? lol Oh well....my rant of the night....thanks for reading lol
  9. I can't wait for this one! I'm 5' tall and after I had my son my shoe size went up. I can wear some 10w and 11's but I want my regular size 9-1/2 10 feet back! lol
  10. I haven't laughed this much in days!
  11. This is funny! My surgery is in 2 weeks but I ALWAYS want it now and I'm single. If it gets worse after surgery somebody's son is gonna be in big trouble!!!
  12. I'm going through pics and I'm reading through the threads and I'm seeing that people who lost 50 pounds, you see a drastic difference from the before pic. When I lost 50 pounds in the past I didn't see a huge difference. Does the loss really look differently post WLS?
  13. You also probably shouldn't hold it. Holding it can cause problems as well.
  14. I'm on day 9 of 28 and I do good all day. Then when the evening comes I'm starving and just want anything I can get my hands on. Today it was a McChicken. Yesterday it was a big bowl of chili. How many days do you have left until your surgery?
  15. @Pepper123...lucky you!!!! I'm 6 days into a 21 day pre op diet! It's torture! Lol
  16. This post is completely because I needed to tell someone how anxious I am to start my life anew! I can't wait to have this surgery!!!! It was really nice on Sunday to see that I had some clothes that are too big....just a month or so ago the pants were so tight I thought I was going to split them with every step I took. But I need to see half...if not all of my wardrobe (as small as it is) to be too big! I keep getting headaches trying to deal with this pre-op diet. I'm hungry as hell and tired! Some days are better than others but today I just feel like, if my surgeon's office called me today and told me to come in tomorrow for surgery, I would be good with that! I'm just ready to get it done!!!!
  17. I usually buy the Hawaiian punch ones but it's a tad too sweet for me for some reason. I bought the crush strawberry yesterday. it's good! I mix 2 packets with 1.5 liters of water and it's still a little too sweet but not as bad as the Hawaiian punch. (I'm pre-op and not into super sweet stuff....it's probably going to get worse after surgery smh)
  18. I buy the Premier Protein in chocolate and vanilla. I add Folgers hazelnut coffee flavor drops to it and it's like drinking an iced coffee. I also put the sugar free syrup and I was told I can use extracts in them as well. They are good without adding flavor but better with it to add some variety. I also had a sample pack of the unjury unflavored and used it in some broth. It was pretty good. I wouldn't mix it with Water though. I think the seasoning I added helped it mask any possible aftertaste.
  19. @@Pac-woman Congratulations!! You are doing awesome!!!
  20. I'm three weeks away from my surgery but I JUST asked my mother this same question Sunday when the outfit I had on was way too big. I'm on my second week of the pre op diet and I don't know how much I lost last week but what I do know is that the 3x top I got for Christmas fits me like I had on my 400 pound uncle's shirt and the pants, that 6 weeks ago were so tight I thought I was going to split them with every step, are now almost falling off. I'll be in the thrift store before surgery if this keeps up! I'm not mad though
  21. @@Pac-woman Agreed! I was scared reading these posts saying people had the surgery as outpatient until I went to my orientation last week. When she explained that they do all they can to prevent complications after the fact and I actually saw people who had surgery the day before walking around looking like they had never had surgery my mind was at ease. Doing this outpatient is a scary thought to me. I go in on a Tuesday and I will be discharged on that Thursday granted I can get in all the fluids. If I can't I will go home Friday!
  22. Do any of you think you could have benefited from an extra day in the hospital? It's procedure for my hospital to keep you 2-3 days. They make you walk, take the drains out before you are discharged, make sure you don't have leaks, and you can't go if you can't get 4 oz down in an hour. And you have to have a Protein shake before you leave too.
  23. @@Miss Mac OMG!!!! I don't even eat peanut butter that much but I think I'm gonna go buy some tomorrow! Just to try that...sounds amazing!!!
