  1. Good for you, I don't have the nerve to experiement with the post op diet until I'm post op lol, I know it's going to be hard, and I'm hoping that the fact that i'll have had surgery and been banded will help with that. 24 days for me now, 22 for you!
  2. I keep hearing about people getting fills under flouro, what does that mean?
  3. December 7th! I'm feeling so many emotions! I'm excited, scared, anxious. It feels really surreal. 25 days!:D:whoo:
  4. I haven't had my surgery yet, but I used to substitute pasta with spaghetti squash. I found it to be fairly comperable with a good sauce. I don't know if it would count as mushy... but I thought I'd throw it out there.... you take a spaghetti squash, pierce several fork holes in it... cook it in the microwave for 10-12 minutes, cut the squash in half, and use a fork to pull and scrape out the "spaghetti".
  5. I think I'll be joining this group. My Dr. gave me a date of Nov. 30, but I couldn't get my financing together, so I needed to cancel that date. Thankfully, my parents have offered to pay for half the surgery and will put the entire surgery on their line of credit, and let me pay them back! I'm so excited, I'm going to call the office on Monday and get a date. I'm hoping it will be in December... I got the november date like just over a week ago so I think they will be bookiing in December! Wish me luck! Can't believe I'm really going to do this! Meghan
  6. I'm going for my consultation tomorrow, I'm wondering if anyone can suggest questions or information that I should go over with the doctor? I have a good understanding of the surgery, but don't want to miss anything with the doctor tomorrow. Thanks, Meghan
  7. Thank you so much for all your responses. Its given me lots to think about!
  8. Hi! I'm wondering if anyone has any information about what health insurance companies may cover some or all of the surgery costs? I know OHIP doesn't cover the cost, but I have group health insurance through my work (manulife financial) and I'm wondering if anyone has had any success in having their group health insurance cover the costs? Thanks, Meghan
  9. lol, that's good. I might use that :clap2:
  10. Hi, I'm new here!. I'm really considering having the procedure done, and was talking to my friends about it and I was really surprised by their reactions. Most, but not all, told me that I was crazy and ALL i needed to do was eat less and exercise more... have willpower. They told me that I was cheating and taking the easy way out. I was really hurt by these comments, because obviously if it were that easy for me I would have done it already. Did anyone else experience reaction like this from people? How did you handle it? Meghan
