  2. November 6th Waiting for the day to come so I can get my journey started, Doctor has me on Optifast shakes for 3 times daily and a snack of boiled non starchy veggies and meat then 2 days pre op all liquid diet so glad it's not a 2 week liquid. I have type 1 diabetes under active thyroid and for height and weight I'm 6 ft 2 and 158 kgs lost 8kgs so far started the optifasts 4 weeks ago roughly.
  3. Hiya I having gastric bypass RNY on the 6th nov. I've been drinking Optifast chocolate Protein Drinks for past few weeks but be stopping them after surgery on doctors orders it expands in you stomach as so I'm told. But I also have isowhey 100% Protein Powder to add to drinks might try cordial sometime with it. Isowhey doesn't mix with Hot Drinks all that well. Going to buy chewable mixed Vitamins will need others later after blood tests if I shows low counts but prob need Iron Calcium B12 I think need to check my list. Have a few small children serving bowls to make eating easier and sipping bottles. Been told to get a hot bottle etc on hand for pain and gas x for gas issues. I'll try to think of more soon.
  4. It's real once you get that gown on cause it's a lot harder to runaway while having it on ????
  5. I'm having surgery nov 6th. I'm in Perth Australia
  6. I'm on prep diet now of 3 optifast shakes a day and a serving of steamed or boiled non starchy veggies and Palm size meat. Hope all goes well my brother is a pain tho lol keeps bringing tempting foods into my fridge >,>
  7. My date was moved to nov 6th so good luck to you all and here's hoping the date doesn't get changed again. Prob won't cause the surgeon is going on holiday end nov lol
  8. Finally a date my op will be on 6th November. Early morning more details when I get contacted by the hospital. But my quests I'll have to be there 6am. I have type 1 diabetes and the tend to rather do any operations on diabetics first.
  9. My surgery was moved just waiting on new date. Should be between nov 1st to 8th too much later than that and it would be hard lol. The surgeon goes on holiday mid nov.
  10. I'm a lil worried because I have under active thyroid which can cause thinning hair which mine is. So hoping I don't loose too much. I live in Perth Australia so any suggestions would be great for pre op and post op for eloping stop hair loss, thinning.
  11. Lost 8kgs so far still waiting on a new op date. But I know it's on nov then I have 2 days liquid diet pre op
  12. Let me try ☺️ I'm using iPad so works for me
  13. I'll just get into my online gaming again lol and find a group of ppl to bug on it. The wonders of those computer chats ie: raid call and team speak. Wouldn't be surprised if there is chat sights for these weight loss groups to chat to. Why not start up a raid call or team speak group to keep in touch. Every sat n Sunday night I have a group of around 40 ppl I chat with for a online game I do a dungeon with. Never to old to do em lol
  14. I was booked for October 25th now moved to between 1st or the 8th November.
  15. No it isn't it has been changed to between the 1st or the 8th November. He was going to op on a weekend but found no one trained in bariatric operation care works on weekends. So have to find a day during the week. We're told 3 others are waiting too.
  16. I feel sick as well really bad stomach cramps. Even know just when looking at the Protein drink I feel like I'm gonna be sick. I'm gonna try experiment a bit to get it tasting better. It's annoying smells nice as powder then smells horrible when I add Water.
  17. Well heard from my surgeon looks like the op date changed to nov 1st or the 8th >_<
  18. I'm only on optifast 2-3 times a day and dinner that is mostly veggies and meat. My mum n bro are doing the same as me so for now it's ok but post op we will take it a day at a time
  19. I have no clue how I would go, on occasion I get paid to make cheesecake and cupcakes to feed up to 50 for my mums workplace. I tend to have to taste to be sure it's ok well gonna have to bug my brother to be the food taster lol. That and I cook dinner every night for my mum and brother.
  20. Standing on my head would paint a funny picture just trying it would be a funny sight.
  21. I know mine is on the 25th not sure on what time. Last time I had surgery they tend to work on type 1 diabetics first in case of any bad complications I guess. Tended to just go there at 7am ????
  22. Great news Beni ????
  23. I take the extra release ones which can work differently after the op and can't take metformin when I did try it I was always getting sick. Also I have type 1 diabetes ATM I take 90 u of insulin a day went down a lot so far from using optifast and cutting carbs but chances of stopping my diabetics are rather slim but if I can go to 1-2 injections a day compared to 5 a day would be great.
  24. Been told after the op I have to stop one of my diabetes meds called diabex X R because it's a slow release tablets and they can work differently which I'm fine with those tablets are huge I have trouble swallowing em as is >_
