  10. I too had planned on the sleeve. I also have a huge hiatal hernia. My surgeon called me on my cell phone the other day. Explained the pros and cons of both. He really didn't want to do the sleeve, but said he would go by my wishes. After he called, I talked with my husband. I've decide to go with the bypass...I'm scheduled for the 24th. My ultimate goal is better health..my concern was also with dumping, but after thinking about gerd and if by chance my got that much worse, I didn't want to have to go thru another surgery
  11. I did monthly weigh ins with my pcp. Nutrition consult. Psych eval...sleep study, blood work, chest X-ray and esophogram.. When I saw the cardiologist my insurance said no to the stress test and echocardiogram he wanted done...I called the surgeons office 2 days later after doing my monthly weigh in with my doctor...I told her about the insurance denying my testing and that I was stopping by to drop off the paper from my weigh in...I asked her to submit the paperwork to just see what the insurance company would come back with...5 days later they said yes. Everyone was shocked! Even the surgeon's office...one more thing that I had her send to the insurance company was a personalized letter giving all the information about my weight issues, family history, etc. asking them to please approve me
