    January Sleevers ❄️

I've lost 40 lbs total since start of pre op. 15 on the pre-op diet then another 25 since surgery on 1/7. I have trouble getting in all my protein & fluids. Its not a physical thing, I've done amazingly well since surgery. I do have a pretty tiny sleeve as evidenced by how little actual food I can eat, my problem is I'm literally too busy to stay on top of it all throughout the day. I'm in my final semester of RN school & I work too so I find myself staying so busy I forget to sip my fluids. Also I have no time for exercise, not even walking. I get up, get kids to school, go to class, go to work, fix dinner, bathe youngest & help her with her homework, put her to bed then do my own homework til midnight or later then get up at 6 & start all over again. I know these are the reasons for the stalls I've had but its unavoidable for now. Hopefully I'll get the hang of it soon. I have no regrets though. Still the best thing I've ever done for myself.

    Stall?

Our starting stats are almost identical. I was sleeved 1/7/15. My SW was 263, day of surgery was 248, CW is 225. That 225 just happened this morning after being stalled out at 227 for about 4 days. The stalls are aggravating but I've read a lot of people on here say they happen to just about everyone. Hang in there, at least we're on the losers bench!
  3. I am hopefully having my sleeve done 1/7/15 with Dr. Verboonen in Tijuana...just waiting to hear about financing I've applied for. (Fingers crossed!!) Anyone else going to be there during this time? Anyone recently had their surgery there that can offer up any tips?? thanks in advance!

    January 7th!

Yes, we flew into San Diego the day before my surgery (1/6/15) & flew home the Saturday after my surgery (1/10/15). We had one connecting flight both ways which ended up helping...that gave me a reason to get up & walk about half way home. I felt fine coming home, obviously a little sore & tired but totally manageable.

1 week post op & I'm down 23 lbs since beginning the pre-op diet & down 8 lbs since surgery!! HW 263 SW 248 CW 240 that's my first "stats" post lol. I'm doing pretty well. I'm not getting my full 64 oz of fluid in but I get so close. I don't think I'm getting all of my protein in either but during this 1st week my Dr wanted me to focus more on fluids so starting tomorrow I'm going to really focus on trying to get as much of both as I can. Today was an odd day for "eating" for me. Things would sound good until I tried them then I didn't want them. I'm still on shakes & soups mostly but have tried some pureed things & so far there's no physical problems with them, I just really don't want to eat I think. I'm in very little pain, more like soreness & discomfort lol. Its all very tolerable though. I just took some adult liquid Tylenol & mainly took it so that I will sleep good tonight. I'm also having a cup of sleepy time herbal tea so hopefully I'll relax good tonight.

  8. Absolutely. @@slvrsax is right, don't let price be your decision maker. The reason I chose Dr Verboonen was that I live in a very small town in a rural county in Oklahoma & at last count I believe there were around 80 people from here that had been to him & I had not heard one complaint. All I heard were good reviews & some were far enough out from surgery that I could see good results & no complications. I did research some other drs but in the end he's who I felt the most comfortable & confident in my decision.
  9. Dr. Sergio Verboonen in Tijuana on 1/7/15. I went through Sheri Burke with international patient facilitators. Cost was $4500 total for 2 nights in the obesity goodbye center & 1 night in the grand hotel. I had a great experience & my husband, who was very worried & skeptical about the whole thing, was equally impressed. He even told some of our friends he would do it again. The facility is very clean, all of the staff was very attentive but I breezed through with no problems & very little pain. I can't say enough good about them.

    January 7th!

I'm sleeved!!! Surgery went well & I'm recovering well too. Just can't stay awake lol. The surgery center is small, & not really what my husband and I are used to or expecting, bit it is very clean & the staff is taking good care of me & that's what matters.

Keep us posted as much as you can on how you are doing. I swear, I'm supposed to work one more day tomorrow but I can already tell I won't be worth much because I will have all of this & all of you all on my mind. January 7th...

I'm on day 6 of 10. I'm down 6 pounds since I started the actual liquid diet Sunday. I started a doing 2 shakes & a lean meal 12/4 when I found out for sure that I would get to have surgery January 7th & all together I'm down 12 pounds from that. Today has been my easiest day yet on the liquid diet. People at work have tried so hard not to even talk about food this week, lol, but I told them today I'm pretty much over it now. Its almost like a new habit to me now lol.

@@monopoly2015 I can't have meals either really, except I guess I do count my broth & cottage cheese as a meal. I save that up all day & have it for my dinner. I thought if I gave myself something to look forward to I would be less likely to feel so deprived on straight liquids all day. I have a friend that's having her surgery the 6th with a different Dr than me & she can have a lean meat & salad for dinner. Its weird how different drs have different guidelines. I'm scared to cheat though. I'm afraid it will somehow cause me problems during or after surgery, or that when he gets in there he'll be able to tell lol. @@losing.it.lulu I feel the same way. I think my body has just gave up at this point on ever seeing solids again. I told hubby tonight that I think my stomach feels like it would reject anything solid if I even tried lol.

If I never have anything chocolate or strawberry flavored again it'll be too soon :-/ lol. I'm doing OK, I'm on day 5 of 10 day pre-op liquid diet. I can have fat free cottage cheese, yogurt, & sugar free Popsicles too, and broth. I find myself getting excited about some broth & cottage cheese, lol.
