  1. click on AGW's ticker (mine doesn't link to the site to go) and it will take you to the ticker factory and then you can create your own....then you put it where you put the August All Star banner is in your sig!! ust don't forget to bookmark your ticker
  2. I've had a few but not laproscopic. I generally come out of the anaesthetic ok (usually starving but I guess this time will be different ) When you come out of the anaesthetic when you are in recovery you will most likely feel cold and they give you nice warmed blankets so that is the first thing I demand .... usually with "Im cold really cold can I have a warm blanket please?" and this is followed every minute until I start to feel toasty
  3. I'd check with the doc...the purpose of doing it is to shrink the liver and as most of the surgery is done behind the liver it is beneficial to have it smaller and make it easier for the doc to get to the stomach.
  4. Hey Mumof2 I am being banded on the 27th in Melbourne! I am in the excited phase of pre op tonight  There is also a bunch of people from around the world on the August 2008 topic who are sharing our thoughts and experiences!! So feel free to pop on over all you August banders!
  5. Welcome Josie!! Not long now at all!! And you can get advice from people who have been there or are going through the same thing as you which I think is great!!
  6. Fashionable clothes!! I can't wait...I may actually look forward to clothes shopping in the future. Also I watched this on You tube and got really emotional (not one to cry at something that is just a persons pictures but it was the other thoughts that were running through my head and the hope for the future!).......so I figure I am regularly going to watch peoples progress photo youtube postings and get inspired! 7. Now I know this isn't for everyone but I found it interesting. It isnt' too gory (it was more how rough the doc seemed that got to me more) but if you are concerned about it seeing it before you go to have it, DON'T WATCH!! Those who have had the surgery may want to see it... This is a video of a surgery and it is in 5 parts... [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RHzljCq2jbk&feature=related]YouTube - Live Lap-Band® Surgery Part 1 of 5 - Kansas City[/ame] alternatively go to you tube and search on 'Lapband surgery Kansas City'! There is a section in Part 4 about 8minutes 50 seconds in where the doc explains the band used and why he chose it! (he is just stitching up the holes and you can't see anything really at this point so those who were trying to decide on a band, you may want to listen...I don't know if it will help... I can also after watching this understand why the port area is sorest!!!
  8. I totally understand this!! I wanted to go on a helicopter ride over the Northern Territory a few months back and wouldn't because you had to get weighed before you went in the chopper! Good luck to all you September Samurai's!!
  9. Hey Sam, welcome, you are an inspiration!
  10. thanks for the info guys!!
  11. Ditto!!! Positive vibes to all!
  12. When I think too much on the what if's I answer with what if I don't (health wise)...and also take great pleasure in looking at catalogues and when i'm out shopping I look at all of the cool clothes that I will be able to buy in the future!!!
  13. AWESOME!! Glad to hear you are doing better Lellow!!
  14. I'll do it with you Lellow! But I won't start until next week as I start preop this weekend coming!
  15. Hi Ange congrats on getting your band date!!! There are at least 140 others getting banded in August from all over the world (I'm on Aug 27th). At the August 2008 lapband topic we're sharing our experiences at August 2008 Bandsters - Lap Band Surgery and Lap Band Discussion Forum So pop on over if you want to vent or chat! Not long now at all!
  16. Wow Danni you can totally see a difference! You're doing great! When you are living with yourself every day I think it is harder to see the weight coming off and I think the photo comparison is a great way to show yourself you are losing the weight! *Note to self - take progress shots*
  17. HAHAHA!!! I hear you Lana! I am starting my preop next weekend (4 days early)...though I may have to work or lay concrete :wink2: so I dont' know if I will be that STRICT on it...but come the 2 weeks before (WED) I will be a good girl!
  18. Smiling is contagious, reading this makes me smiley and excited too! I have the Wii not the Fit though! Looking into it so be interesting to know how much of a workout you get!

  21. YAY Lellow! Glad to hear you are through and I hope the pain doesn't last too long!!
  22. Good luck Amaltha, Cached, ichatter, Karenin, Imgreen, melolo, mistyD65, pjtxlady, permiern01, Roustabout and any others who are being banded tomorrow!! We'll be thinking of you!
  23. Good luck tomorrow Cached...You only have about 10 hours to go before you have to be at the hospital I gather so you might not get this before then but we'll see you on the flip side!!
  24. Hope you had a nice break Cutie!! I've been busy busy busy this weekend. I'm trying to get things done before surgery because I won't be able to do much for a while after. Dad and I made a fence (concreted in the posts then put horizontal deck boards across to make the fence) it isn't too long (2.4M but it was fiddly) Then today we dug out a heap of soil and put in the roadbase ready for the concrete! That will be next weekend I think. Then I want to put the Water tank in with enough time to hopefully catch some rain before summer! (Melbourne is on permanent water restrictions due to our drought.) So I am now sitting on the couch achy but pleased at the productive weekend I had.
  25. Glad to hear you are ok Fee except of course for the pain. Sleeping all day  That is the best thing when you are in pain is to sleep it away but I hear walking does help ease the pain too
