  1. :confused:banded Oct 12 2007, lost 60 lbs. doing great except I have a bladder infection that just will not go away. Strong odor, cloudy yellow urine, itching. Has any one else had this? Does anyone know what it is?
  2. Thanks again Christal. I go in for another fill on Feb 4th, and hope that will do it for me. My problem is: when I am hungry...I EAT.
  3. WOW, this is just what we need, someone to KICK US IN THE BUTT and tell it like it is. I am one of those that has been eating bread, steak, french fries etc, and feeling sorry for myself. I was banded on Oct 12th and am ashamed to say I have lost only 4 pounds since surgery. I need to take control of myself. Thanks
  4. You are not the biggest failure ......I am. Surgery date 12 Oct 2007 What is it with the October banders?
  5. WOW!!!! Sure hope this is not what is wrong with me. I have no suggestions.
  6. You sound like you are well informed, good luck to you on your surgery. Each person is different, and I hope to start losing after my next fill on the 4th. Thanks for responding. That is what is so great about this forum.
  7. Hey....I was seventy last August 23rd. I also am very happy to find more out there my age. I too was thinking all the others were much younger. When is your birthday? :rolleyes2:
  8. You sound like you are doing just fine for having surgery last week. I can eat anything I want (that's the problem) and had that full feeling last month when I had my 4cc fill. But it didn't last very long. As for exercise, I started treadmill at 2 weeks, working up from 5 minutes at a time to over 30 minutes a day now. I also go to the Y for the Silver sneakers program, and have just started using the equipment. I still have swelling of the ankles although I do not eat salt. I go back to the doctor on the 4th. :rolleyes2:
  9. I am a healthy, active 70 year old female. Had surgery 12 Oct 2007, first fill 4cc on Dec 10th. Not losing any weight, what is wrong. need someone to talk to. Just joined seventies group, but I am the ONLY member.....so I joined the sixties group also
  10. I don't know about your insurance, but I do know about the lapband. I was banded on 12 October 2007, just 3 weeks ago. The first week or so was rough, but am now feeling good, exercising on my treadmill at least 30 minutes a day, sometimes more...and I am 70 years old. Your insurance will probably come around because this surgery is better than the more invasive one. In my opinion. I am lookinf forward to the rest of my life. ekgray
  11. So, you haven't had surgery yet? I binged for two weeks on everything I liked. Then just one week before surgery I really got serious and buckled down and lost 11 lbs before surgery.
  12. Me too, I had to stay overnight and then when they were ready to let me go I got sick to my stomach and they let me stay another night. My travel to home was a 4 hour drive.
  13. contact us all again tomorrow and let us know how your night was.
  14. Hi Brandy.....I had to go to Portland because of my age....70... Portland was the only place where they would take Medicare patients. That's how I got from Canyonville to Portland. Good luck to you tomorrow. It is worth it.
  15. additional to last message.......I am on pureed foods already. Scrambled eggs. MG, I can't believe how bad baby food is. I have tried the mixed vegetables and they are awful. Had to mix it with cream of chicken soup.
  16. Thanks for the welcome. I live 200 miles south of Portland in Canyonville, Oregon. I can only visit my support group when I have my appt with the doctor on the 14th of Nov. I used to live in Foley, Alabama ( near Gulf Shores and Pensacola, Florida) but we had to leave when Ivan, Dennis, Katrina, and Rita decided to mess up our lives. So, you used to live in Portland? How did you get to Georgia.?
  17. Thanks, I have gained 4 pounds, but hope this is normal, is it? It has only been 12 days.:faint:
  18. Had lap-band on October 12, 2007 at Legacy Good Sam Hospital in Portland, Oregon. My Doctor is Jay Jan. Everything went fine and I am up and about. Joined the support group at the Hospital but it is so very new that there are only a few members, and no action on the net. I need to be able to talk to other people who have had the surgery and discuss what is happening to me now.
