  1. Momof5, What types of protein are you eating?
  2. You walk in place, but you don't just stand in one spot.
  3. I have the 2-disc set with 1, 2, and 3 mile walks and I love it. I loved it so much I sent it to my mother and god-mother with weights for a gift.
  4. You are feeling exactly what you should be feeling. It will get better everyday. Hang in there!
  5. dlynnmarie & Jenn1969, You are both feeling what you are suppose to feel. I had those same feelings. Drink what you can and don't worry about it. You will know when you can tolerate more liquid. If you force liquid down, it might come back up or you will have an awful feeling in your stomach. Just do as much as you can and walk, walk, walk. Walking helps heal the body and gets things to flow again. I hope my post is helpful to you both. Best regards, Ms. NeNe
  6. Colarado Chick, Don't eat too less either, because your body will go into store fat mode. It's like a balancing act. You have to eat enought to fuel your body, but you have to exercise also. Sometimes I weigh myself and I'm up 2-3 pounds but a few days later I will weigh myself and be 5-6 pounds down. It also depends on how much salt is in what you are eating too. Sometimes it's just water weight. Anyway, good luck with your weightloss. Sincerely, Ms. NeNe
  7. Something similar happened to me. I actually blacked out, but I am well today and happy with my lap band.
  8. Wheezie, Sounds like you are doing great. Congrates.
  9. I had the same type of issue you had after surgery, except I did not have pneumonia, but I did have to go back to surgery so they could stop the bleeding and they had to give me 2.5 pints of blood. I am doing great now.
  10. Congrats Miss Meliss....You are on you way. I have no regrets. I have lost 20 pounds since April 8th.
  11. miss meliss, I would go back to my doctor's office and ask them to check on it. They usually have a relationship or person of contact with each insurance. They showed me APPROVED in the system before I got a letter and I alerted my doctor's office. The processor in the office called Aetna for an approval code for the surgery. I hope this helps. Ms. NeNe
  12. Thanks for this post. It is really inspiring.
  13. Hey guys, I was banded on April 8th with Aetna Insurance. It has been a hard first week, but today is the best I have felt. I think it's going to be well worth it. I went for my 1-week appointment with my doctor and he said I am healing well. My appetite is still very little, but it is increasing. I lost 11 pounds since my surgery.:rolleyes2:
  14. Hey guy and gals, The best advice I could give (7 days post-op) is go drink as much as you can. Take the pain meds and let you body relax. I know its hard because it has been hard for me, but I can say that each day I get up I have a little more mobility, a little less pain, and I can drink a little more. At first I thought I just had to get what they said into me (that was impossible) so I just did what I could. Today, being the 7th day after surgery I am feeling better. I am still having difficulty, but I really do feel better. I am starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. This particular thread has been so beneficial to me because before I read it from the beginning, I could not understand what I am going through. Thanks for your all who participated from the beginning and giving me so hope.
  15. Thank you for sharing your experiences. I was banded on April 8th and today (April 14th) was still having regrets because I just don't feel normal on the inside of my body. You guys have put it into great prespective for me and I pray I feel the same in the next two weeks.
  16. Flowerpurr, I have Aenta and I have NO Co-moborities. My BMI is 42.7 and they APPROVED me. You just need to see all of the doctors that they require, have 5-year documented weight-history with your doctor, 3 or 6 month documented weightloss regime withy your PCP & a Nutritionist, and a referral to Weight Loss Doctor for your PCP. It also helps if your PCP is in your corner and documents in your file that he/she thinks this would be a great way for our to conquer your obesity. Also, the fact that you've lost 30 to date. Call your insurance company at your convenience and ask if Weight Loss Surgery is covered under your plan. They also will probably refer you to a policy bulletin regarding the requirements based on your insurance.
  17. Kara, I got a pamphlet from my doctor's office. I will be the first of his patients to receive the Realize band.
  18. John, I'm getting the Realize band too. My surgery is tomorrow (4/8/08).
  19. Go girl, I am so happy for you. My surgery is April 8th.
  20. Today I go for pre-op. Sunday and Monday I have to be on a clear liquid diet. Tuesday at 6:00 a.m. I have to be at the hospital; at 8:00 a.m. I'm suppose to go into surgery. I'm really excited!!!:huh2::tt2:
  21. Hi Carol 4784, Actually, I only have to do a two-day preop. So I won't start fasting until Sunday, April 6th. What does your pre-op diet consist of?
  22. Hey I wasn't able to get April 2nd, but I will be praying for you today and tomorrow. However, I was able to get April 8th. Keep me in your prayers too.
  23. Thanks Lonestar...Next Tuesday is my big day. I'm excited.
  24. JDUB0414, If that's the only thing they are using as a method of denial, I would appeal again. My surgery date is April 8th. Initially they denied me. I did the 3-month multi-discretional diet with my PCP and a dietician and resubmitted the paperwork and was approved.
