  1. No pics of the scar....I believe my recovery was the same as everyone else....one night in the hospital....every day I felt better & better...it was tough in the beginning but doable....best of luck to you!
  2. Yes! That is what I had in October 2014. It's great because there is no scar or i should say a very small scar....in the belly button.
  3. Hello welcome, your goal weight is not stupid at all. You are going to do it????????

  9. That's a great finish time!!! Congrats!
  10. I was sleeved nine days ago. Today I volunteered for bake sale at my children's school to benefit breast cancer awareness. There were all different types of cakes, cupcakes, Cookies and pastries. I am so shocked and amazed that I did not taste of anything. And I was not even tempted. I had absolutely no desire to eat that junk. I sipped on my Water while serving hundreds of kids cupcakes. For me this is definitely a victory this would've been a major challenge prior to surgery. Actually it would not have been a challenge I would've just ate everything in sight .....LOL. I can't believe that I could look at a cookie, smile and say no thank you. This surgery has changed my life for the better!!!
  11. I was in the hospital for one night. I was very happy to leave. You really don't get to sleep at the hospital. They wake you up every two hours to walk and check your vitals.
  12. That should be a question for your doctor's office or nutritionist. Every doctor has a different requirement. On my liquid pre-opp I was allowed 4 Protein shakes per day, sugar free liquids and sugar free Jello and pudding. I have seen some people allowed salads and vegetables. Good luck.!
  13. I am one week post opp. and I am having difficulties drinking the required amount of Water. How does everyone remember to drink up? I am looking for an app that will beep/buzz every hour or 20 minutes to remind me to drink. Is there such an app.
  14. My surgery went well. I am six days post op. I cannot say that I was in a lot of pain. But, major discomfort and gas pains. While at the hospital they will give you a morphine pump to control the pain. They also sent me home with A prescription for liquid Tylenol codeine. I filled the prescription but never used the medication. What I did use was the gas x strips, that's a lifesaver. Right now my major struggle is to drink enough Water. I feel a little weak and tired, hoping this will change soon.
  15. I am 5 days post op also (10/8 surgery date) and the same I have the same thing. It's not severe but it's there. Keep hydrated !!!
  16. Wednesday is the day!!! the first day of the rest of my life! I am so excited and nervous all at the same time. Good luck to everyone having their procedure this week.
  17. I am not sure what I want to do regarding the day of my surgery. (Which is in 4 days) Should I have my family stay w/ me at the hospital? Who was with you in the hospital the day of surgery? Did they spend the night @ the hospital w/ you? Did they drop you off? And pick you up? If you was alone did you wish you had someone there? So excited and nervous for my surgery on October 8th.
  18. Yes but I am in NYC you get 80% for a maximum of $180 per week. I can use 1 week vacation and one week disability . I cannot live on $180 per week.
