  1. sorry san diego mom!!! yesterday - b- 3.5oz cherry fage greek yogurt w/handful of fiber one cereal s- peanut butter cheesecake protein drink l- chicken salad on half an english muffin s- handful of cashews d- 1 spring roll & few bites of chicken pad thai
  2. i'm in TX too & have heard plenty about his race, from all walks of life including the inlaws. dh and i can visit them, and if the topic of politics come up - we're met w/hateful speach by some older relatives that grew up calling certain members of society names & don't think twice about it. while dh did not vote for obama - he's ashamed that some can talk about his skin before they even hit upon how crappy his ideas are to them. so it does exist, and does so everywhere.
  3. yes i can - i'm not sure about corporate bankruptcy (maybe cc can chime in) but i don't believe employee compensation can be included in restructuring the debt of 'said company'. i understand that the "who" gets their money first is: bank unsecured creditors share holders many times, these "bonuses" are elevated due to a lower comission or salary plan taken. i know i worked it that way. because we pay our taxes qtrly, that nut was earmarked for what portion uncle sam wanted out of us that qtr. i have no "smart" answer or one for that matter - that makes sense on how to handle the bail out situation.....and really i've yet to hear a single one. this is a big issue in our home - DH is what i would call a libertarian, he is socially liberal, believes in a strong military & is ALL about free enterprise and gov't out of his ass in doing so. our diner parties are SO entertaining:)
  4. isn't it? - LOL MIL invited me w/her church group to the one in Dallas.....probably thinking i'll be forgiven for voting for obama in the first place. think i'll hit starbucks for my chai tea rather than attend, but i can't wait to see the footage of it - especially played out by the "liberal media"...
  5. the very worst thing we can do is self diagnos, or come to a support board for guidance in areas such as this where medical intervention is needed. even if you didn't have a band, the lack of fluids is dangerously low. my dr is 1.5hr away from me - but if i could only handle a few sips of liquids every hr or so; i'm calling his cell & he's going to meet me at the nearest location. this isn't how the band should work - and your too many days in w/a problem that will only get worse. please call your surgeon and get in asap. keep everyone posted,

  7. well i'm glad your happy w/the new dr. & hopefully the slip corrects itself. i actually posted yesterday that someone should do a search on your user name ; they were looking to use a dr that's done only 5 bands. hope it all goes well from here on out..
  8. so it's what my trainer calls it, i have a bosu ballance trainer - which is a half ball w/black rubber on the other side with handles. i have a knee board (3 wheels) - outstretch in a push up position w/ball side down and toes on the board, i pull my legs up to my stomach - maintaining a push up position. i fell down the first several times i tried this......you never look pretty while doing:wink2:
  9. BlackBerry - App World – The Official BlackBerry App Store for BlackBerry Apps& check these apps - dh does lance armstrong's calorie tracker....but i think you can do a search for something that fits you.. love my storm:)
  10. theresa - i had to wait a good 6 months before i tried any type of ab/core exercising. to date, i still have some minor port pain when i do certain moves in yoga or abs.....kinda just trudge through it. i had complained for a while to my dr about the port pain, and he ran some tests. i had a small hernia under the port & when i had that repaired they noticed a small infection. luckily all caught early & fixed properly.... i'm 18 months out & it still gives me a problem - i had little belly fat to begin with (pear shapped) so it's highly visable. would love to move it to my butt where i'm sure i'll always have extra padding.... good luck!
  11. HA has football started already???? LOL i'm sure i have adult ADD, get bored easily & have to mix things up....while cardio is a pain, i can now say i miss it - even just walking. today - routine as outlined; did it at home (slave to the gym) with free weights, bands, exercise balls & it took about 38mins: hip flexor routine - 5 exercises 15 reps each leg ab crawl - 50reps cross over abs - 25reps each side 15lb bicep / shoulder / tricep - 20 reps - repeat 50 squats w/12lb / 25 lunges each leg w/10lb - repeat kick back glutt - 50 each leg iso abs - twice - 1min each 15lb chest / row - 20 reps - repeat kick back hip - 50 each leg side swing abs w/7lb ball - twice 1min each 40 push ups / 40 dips - repeat ab crawl - 50reps **ok, this is what i'm doing for 3wks, while the bum ankle heals**
  12. that's a great idea~ i understand docs don't want patients to get fixated on that number - but lets face it .. it's ALL about the NUMBER, if not the fill but the scale.
  13. thats unsafe even w/out a band to go that long w/out fluids. she'll end up in the ER w/her drs advice - DUMB.!.
  14. that was my concern as well - just didn't trust the pincers; he must know what he's doing ... on side note, no WAY could i look like a mangina - the girls & booty still exist in plenty.:) heartfire - so sorry about the PB episode, i would stay on fluids for a few days to reduce the swelling. re fill level - i think the reason i insist on knowing is something i read here early on. some poster believed she had a leak - one day she'd get a fill, it would last 2 maybe 3 days then all restriction gone. her dr would never tell her how much he was putting in or how much she had. i like the fact that all 7.2cc's gets pulled out & put back in - give or take a small fill or unfill. it's my little check/balance that "no leak exists".... ok - like taps ; coffee & lots of it this am.
  15. congrats on you YR anniversary & the 90lbs!!!! yesterday - b- half english muffin w/chive cream cheese l- spicy tuna - 5pcs s- chips - gone, done out of the house d- 3 bb ribs & 1/4c ranch beans
  16. plain - i was actually referring to the fact that the US has a harder time w/obama being black vs the rest of the world. they've caught on - more so than here. i do agree the qualified / unqualified stance is over.
  17. i was banded the same day as my husband - it made the process that much easier, that said our journey was completely different. he required 3 fills & hasn't looked back.....me i needed 8 & many more tweeks up/down in fills, over the last yr. i also had a port infection that was healed properly - however it's a constant annoyance with it protruding the way it does. i would have elected a different surgery, DH has zero regrets and would have done nothing differently. great to do it as a team - surgery type is a bit more tricky of a question or none at all. good luck to you.
  18. good to hear - saw his new pic on fb; very sweet~!
  19. that would drive me INSANE....i sit next to my dr w/my chart and annoy the crap out of him w/my questions - DH barely talks at his appts so he laughs at me... i'm still pretty high in my fill volume 7.2ccs - had been as high as 8.7 at one point, this last fill has been decent - but my brother brought every kind of potato chip this past wkend knowing i gave it up for lent. they are NO issue getting down, and i just fed about 100 birds w/the rest of the chips cause i have no RESTRAINT in that regard....have to be out of the house.
  20. i commend you working those artificial knees! i'm trying to let a small fracture heal & it's boring...... i don't have a swiss ball, but one like it - i do quite few free weight exercises on it ... not just for abs:)
  21. sushi is also a great source of Protein - add some edamame in to the picture as well.... it's a very healthy choice of meal & i've not had any plateau that i could contribute to wkly sushi......i've stop losing, but i also think i'm maintaining at the moment. carbs (good ones) - i keep them in my diet & don't track, i need them for as active as i am.
  22. drinking protein drinks or wine for liquid cals? i will say glouc - a few unfills that i had, that did in fact let me eat more shook a plateau & i started to lose again. just a thought.
  23. i eat sushi often (today in fact for lunch), every now / then the sticky rice is a problem - but i have a lot of my favorite rolls made w/cucumber ribbon. i would have a had a hard time giving up sushi - good luck w/your surgery.
  24. been doing my ab/arm/back/hip/glutt/hamstring/squat/lunges w/ free weights & band rountine that my trainer gave me every other day. i tried walking on the treadmill on sat morning and it just made my ankle swell - so still no cardio just yet. the weight training is getting boring; but my biceps & triceps officially have good muscle definition - wish i could say the same for my butt/thighs....still work in progress:) today - SAA,
  25. had company this wkend & while movies were on-going i didn't sit down much to watch many .... did catch 2: baby mama - 2, not sure if was really tired yesterday morning or what .... still saved on tivo & might try it again. yes man - 3.5 * still plan on seeing seven lbs this wk - wanted to watch when i know i won't have any interruptions.*
