  1. not a bad thought. as stated by glouc & ebony - this is just bad dog ownership, rather the dog owns them if they can't control it......and in my mind if you can't control, you shouldn't own - period. i have a 48lb TERROR of a red heeler. essentially she is our guard dog, and while she has never bit anyone - she does "head butt" a new persons heels (thus being a heeler). i have her on a short leash to get accustomed to new individuals - she has to snif you out - but I control that leash, and she knows i own her sassy ass if she gets out of control. we have a kennel on the property and if someone is scared of her - she spends the day there. i'm not subjecting myself to a lawsuit because my dog may not like someone. but she is my protector - so i have to allow for her "controlling ways" somewhat - but on a SHORT LEASH, if i have anyone on the property that doesn't belong - she'll deal w/them, not the 100lb lab who will roll over for a belly rub. a dominant dog will only get away with what you allow - if your sister can't deal, i like ebony's idea of a hotel rm. maybe then she'll take your concerns to heart??
  2. eating out w/DH is fine - both banded, both know to go slow and take it easy. i have problems when dining out w/friends. i let the chatter get the best of me and i don't pay attention get stuck, and leave a plateful of food that will now become DH's lunch the next day.
  3. last day in june and taking the day off. i was dressed & ready to hit the gym and DH crawled out of bed - back bothering him. i should have gone by myself - but decided to take a break myself. yesterday - spin class / 30min stair master
  4. that' just doesn't seem right or fair. is there a difference between county/private hospital??? i'll admit to not really knowing much regarding this.
  5. i stole the "muffin" idea from truediva:tongue: it's an easy way for me to eat eggs w/out tasting like rubber - gets a quiche texture.
  6. no kidding ~ we're just remodeling and there are days i want to bite a hole in my tongue from biting it so hard INSTEAD of smacking DH upside the head w/a paintbrush. did i say that????:tongue2:
  7. when DH and i did our tandem jumps - i went right before him, he said he about threw up watching me roll off & turn into a dot in the sky. i was for sure he wouldn't go through w/it - but he did, think his tandem instructur would have tossed him if not..... he's not a fan of bungee jumping - doesnt' think they're safe, like jumping out of a perfectly fine plane is...:tongue2: *chain email - good idea*
  8. ha! - all PG :tongue2: well sorta :cursing: i wanted to go bungee jumping (went sky diving on my 30th - figured do another dare devil act for 40) but hubby said he didn't have enough life insurance out on myself...JK just spent the day w/hubby & diner - quiet evening:) was nice, thanks for asking.
  9. i know - seriously pjtp conversations. i think kat/fanny did a great job conveying what likely is going on with (slim/ebony/beth) SO's - but i would still seek therapy for yourselves. think of therapy helping the headstuff while the band deals w/the stomach..... taps - outside of posting a craigs list "looking for owner" ad, which could bring it's own issues - not sure i can see how you can find the rightful owner.
  10. i saute some fresh baby spinach, add some feta and one egg beaten to a muffin pan. bake @350 for 15mins. no muffin per se'. yesterday - b- muscle milk banana cream ps l- small cup of hot/sour soup, 3pcs of spicy tuna roll d- lobster stuffed avocado, 2 glasses of chardonay
  11. well, hells bells fanny that was a real treat~ that young lady was more than remarkable - thanks for sharing~~~!
  12. ok - i'm finishing of june strong..LOL i turn 40 tomorrow - so, i pushed it a bit this wkend - HA!.....actually worked out hard w/dh both days as he's gained 20lbs thinking after getting to goal, he could ease back into late night snacking (after i went to bed) and not exercise. yesterday - boot camp weight training session / 45 mins on treadmill - ran 1.5 miles (dont' know what got into me) / 52 laps in the pool (broken out in 2 sessions) today - spin class / upper body weights / abs - 2 games of Water volleyball:smile2: and now a glass of wine :smile2::thumbup:
  13. i think you look stunning!~~ congrats to you.
  14. i think it's important to note that a high fill level doesn't necessarily equate being too tight. i eat all foods (bread/pasta/rice) - PB'd twice, don't slime, no reflux - all signs that your band is too tight. according to my surgeon - he would have preferred to have put the smaller 4cc band inside me, based on my anatomy - however he only uses the AP bands......so he warned me early on that i would likely need over 8ccs in the 10cc band to get restriction. i just don't get the "template" band post op life instructions. this is not one size fits all - meal plans, restriction - all of it are so individual. i'm glad my dr is flexible and open to discuss this. i was banded the same day as my husband, and outside of that similarity - we share nothing alike in life after being banded.
  15. hey KC - i notice your 100lbs down!!!!! CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. yesterday - b- egg muffin (1egg, spinach, feta) l- grilled hallibut (approx 4oz) & some grilled zuchinni ribbons d- **too hot** half strawberry malt
  17. i don't really measure any longer - i got a good idea what 3 or 5ozs & 1 or 1.5cups looks like. what i still do is eat on a salad plate (unless dining out).
  18. yesterday - b- slice WW toast w/peanut butter & half banana s- ostrich jerky stick l- 4oz thai chili salmon d- chicken salad on lettuce cup s- mango rum punch(s) **was really hot out**:blushing:
  19. well - since the swamp cooler "wasn't" a summer beverage i've come up with my own today & when DH got home 2hrs ago i got the "eye" 2pts mango rum 1pt selzer 3 limes squeezed lots of fresh mint :drool: band friendly i promise!
  20. i know - isnt' it fantastic. i feel a silly friday night going on........it's 7'ish 105 outside and things are goofy w/the heat:)
  21. bumping the thread up - so those that love/respect him, have a place to post.
  22. then move to the love thread if so offended - or report the post. that's the options i see, really those who don't feel the same as you have the right to say so - thus this thread was created, or so i think.
  23. ummmm - cause this is rants & rave section, we get to attack the "idea/topic" not the person (dont' want to get moderated now), so as stated there is a love fest thread for MJ in the lounge - have a party!
  24. interesting concept. i had to "educate my trainer" on WLS & the band - which he was more than open to. he had never had a WLS client - so he took it as a learning experience for himself, rather than insult me that i took the easy way out. we "together" discussed nutrition & i let him know that while i valued his opinion - he knew i had a bariatric team that managed the scale & my health. i needed him to push / work me harder than i would myself and that's what i hired him for. you can get the band, but it doesn't come w/directions to the gym.... i'm not sure though even before hitting goal i would go to an exclusive WLS surgery gym, just like i wouldn't attend an all female facility. is there a gap for qualified trainers for the obese absolutely, and that might be a better direction to go -rather than isolate...but that's just my opinion.
