  1. Hello fellow Canadians! I really hope people will see this thread and be able to lend some help and advice. I am turning 39 this September and I need to change my life. I have been on Weight Watchers four times, did an all liquid diet (through the Ottawa Civic Hospital before I moved to Quebec), did Herbal Magic, etcetera ad nauseum - I need a permanent solution and am interested in getting the gastric sleeve in Mexico. I am 5'10 and am 325 pounds. I've gained and lost the same 100 pounds my entire life, and it's getting worse each time as I gain more back. Has anyone else done this from Canada? Which clinic did you get it done? How did it go? Any tips? Costs? Any advice you could give would be so appreciated! Thanks, Melanie/Pers
  2. Hello new friends! I have just started researching gastric sleeve self pay procedures in Mexico and my mind is spinning! I am from Canada, and I feel confused by the different doctors/clinics and I'm nervous regarding making a bad choice, costs, and just "how to's". Could any other Canadians share their experiences (or anyone else! All feedback welcome and appreciated!) I know this is the way for me to go, but I don't want to make any wrong choices! Thanks so much! Pers in Quebec

I want to be a woman again.

Thank you for writing what I'm feeling. I feel so ugly and unworthy. Just awful.
  4. Still feeling hopeless and like such a failure. I wish I could have the sleeve surgery before my wedding in December because I feel so ugly.

I agree with Pink Dahlia. Get a good start now. If you feel healthier physically, you will feel better emotionally. Also, apparently your fella doesn't see you like you see yourself. Above all of the other women on the earth, He wants you so much that he is willing to marry you and take you off the market. Trust his judgement. You are beautiful in his eyes. Have a joyful wedding. Good luck, dear lady.

You ladies are so kind. Yes, my hubby to be loves me for me - I'm lucky for it. He's my soul mate. I think I will take all your feedback and work on getting healthier now, and then I'll be better for my wedding and more prepared for the surgery. Thank you so much for reaching out to me!!!

When I got married to my husband I was obese and was our entire married life until I decided to have surgery last year. Before surgery over a 7 year period I lost 68 lbs without putting much effort into and knew if I didn't start myself on this journey in May of 2013 I would never get healthy without surgery. So from May to September surgery I lost 40 lbs. I watched what I ate and exercised. I am now 190 lbs lighter and my husband is thrilled because I'm healthy for the first time in our marriage. Your hubby to be loves you for you and all of you. He's probably your best friend and that's the greatest thing of all to marry your friend because it lasts much longer and is more intense of a love. Be happy and enjoy all the precious moments you have together. Take care.

Hi Miss Mac! I just moved to this province and discovered a wonderful farmers' market practically outside my door! I am going to enact some better eating habits, cooking habits, before I get the sleeve so I can be more successful later. Thanks for taking the time to respond today!
