Cottage cheese packs a protein punch if you are having issues with denser protein such as lean meat, or are not far enough out from surgery to eat meat. Buy full fat versions if your calories are that low.

    Lean deli meats--turkey, chicken, etc.
Can you handle low fat Greek Yogurt? If you shop for yogurt you will find products that have around 100 calories, 15 grams of protein and 7 grams or less of natural sugar. Yogurt has become my go to for snack foods. It is also a tad less expensive than deli products.

By mid morning I have 46 grams of the 80 grams of protein I need for the day. For breakfast I eat One hard boiled egg (6grams) One Oikos Triple Yogurt (15 grams) and 30 minutes later I start drinking 32 ounces of water with one scoop of Isopure "unflavored" protein powder (25grams) with crystal light and Optifiber. The rest of the day I'm eating mostly fish, beans, nuts or other seafood. I stopped drinking protein shakes when I found "unflavored" protein powder. I get a twofer, protein and my water. Note: The Isopure "unflavored" protein powder has it's own taste and I had to get use to it. The better tasting "unflavored" protein powder is Unjury (21grams) but it does cost more.

If you can't get in your 60gr w food, you need to continue w the protein drinks to keep your numbers up or you will lose muscle and your hair will fall out faster....especially on less than 500 calories. You cannot go by hunger, you can't - I still rarely am hungry. I get faint if I don't eat, so plan eating and eat even if not hungry - you need nutrition.

I am at the beginning of week 5 and I haven't lost since the beginning of week 3. I was just able to get my calories to 800. I'm hoping this gets things going again. Good luck to you!!

When I saw my doc at my 2 weeks post op check up he told me to expect a stall at week 3 as the body is still trying to balance out it's new reality. He was right. Weeks 3 & 4 I saw much of nothing as far as weight loss. The only thing that kept me sane is that I had been warned by the doctor to expect it. I have a scale that does % body fat and it was going down even though my weight wasn't. My clothes were feeling better. Heading into week 5 the scale is moving again and I've dropped down into Onederland.
Remember this is not a sprint but a marathon. While disheartening when we stall out, this process is about the next year+ not these couple of weeks.

I'm 6 weeks post-op. After hearing over and over, that this is a temporary time for us, it's finally sunk in.
Our lost appetites, our inabilities to get enough protein or fluid, our rapid weight losses, or ---these "unfun" mysterious stalls.
Since three weeks and six weeks are in themselves short periods of time (in the big picture), a few days probably doesn't qualify as a significant time period to be classified as a "stall". Maybe three weeks or six weeks (total) might be a time period worthy of this classification, but not a few days.
Heck, I was amazed at the rapid loss right out of the gate... 1/2 to 1 pound per day... so when I didn't lose that magic 1/2 lb once or twice, I decided to stop weighing myself every day. Or every other day. I tried to go beyond two days, but I couldn't resist. I have to admit that standing on my digital scale and seeing the numbers fall... 35 pounds in my case was... well, it was great!
Maybe it's just me, but I don't want to spoil all this greatness by somehow convincing myself that I've already done something to mess things up. My body is just taking a little break from losing weight. At least I'm not gaining. How about you?

I’m just repeating advice that seemed to work for others. Up your calories AND protein and recognize that a stall at 3 weeks post is pretty normal. Good luck

Okay here is my philosopy, I'm 72 so I am philosopical, goes with my age! You have heard weight loss is not so much a sprint but a marathon? That's true but let me interject another truth. You are not built as a ? rocket ship, more like a old junky jalopy.? Instead of losing whoosh, you chug a chug along. You feel like you are moving along down the weight loss highway and then you slow down. Every so often your body feels like it needs to realign, reboot if you will. And you temporarily stop losing weight, the inches usually diminish, you may replace fat with muscle, well known fact that muscle tissue weights more than fluffy puffy fat tissue, certainly it also is more healthy in the long run than adipose(scientific name for blubber!) tissue. So while your body is realigning, redefining what healthy is for IT you will be going OMG What is wrong with ME? If you are getting your fluids, following your medical given diet, getting adequate exercise, not tying yourself up in knots stressing about it, the pounds will soon start dropping again. One of my BARI-Buds which I regard as a mentor recently had one of these. When it broke, she lost 8 pounds kathunk, sure she had been losing inches but she was OVERJOYED when this happened. All is well now, and soon I go for my WONDER WEDNESDAY my very own REBIRTHDAY, and in a very few weeks or months I too will be singing the Stall Blues, only difference I will realise what it is and not get worried so much!

I had this at the hospital, but it did go away after a few days. The doc said it is the body getting used to the new way the body works. Personally I thought it was baloney, but either that did happen, or something else did because now I can consume liquids twice as fast as my surgeon said without problems. Yes, if I am-time for my liquids all day, then after several hours, I will need to stop for a while because I feel like I filled up my intestines (Even if this is not what is really happening LOL)
Try and stick it out, but if you think you are getting dehydrated or the pain isn't getting any better, maybe call your physician's office? That's why they get paid for and they're used to it, so make use of it if you need to!

I've been seriously thinking about compiling a bariatric surgery / weight-loss glossary of terms and I thought, "Oh! A new word to add." Good thing you corrected your post. I would have wasted time looking for the definition of a term that doesn't exist.
