  1. I hope to take two weeks off as well. I have arranged the date specifically to get back to work two weeks out. I hope that is realistic!
  2. You'll be great! You've got this!
  3. My sister is 8 months out and has reached her goal. She continually reminds me that the sleeve is a tool, but it won't change your head. Restriction is definitely the tool, determination to lose is what brought us to surgery. All if our old habits font disappear without effort. I too am fearful of regain, but I plan on joining a support group, bread this forum and do the best I can one day at a time. I wish all of you the best, and know we each will do everything we are committed to do!
  4. Being able to run, even climb a flight of stairs sounds so great! Those are the kind of rewards I'm looking forward to as much as the weight loss!
  5. Hi! I'm 5 10 Andy goal weight is 162.6. My surgeon said I should be 149, so we'll see. My surgery date is 9/22. I'm so excited, but anxious I'll fail at this like everything else I've tried. I currently weigh 262, and 100 lbs sounds epic! I love reading about all your successes. You all inspire me!
  6. Congratulations! What a great success story! My sister shared with me the WLS is a tool that doesn't change the head. (Old eating habits...) ups and downs are all part of the journey. It sounds like you are doing terrifically, and your story inspired me! Thank you!
  7. I'm being sleeved on 9/22! I'm so excited!
  8. 9/22 for me! Getting all my pre op doc appointments done, and hoping insurance will approve. If not I'll pay for it. It's that important for me! Start my pre op diet 9/8. Had a sleep study last night. Enjoyed my psych appoint! Really helpful!
  9. I've got 100 to lose, and I also am happy I found this. I'm learning so much just reading other posts.

  11. Sure. She needed to lose 85 pounds. At 65 lbs down she really turned up the cardio and weight training. She makes sure to do some form of exercise everyday. At this stage she eats everything but grains, including small amounts of potatoes. Her new love is lentils.
  12. Best wishes for a speedy recovery! Sounds like you have the best attitude ever, and you will enjoy success! I am 5' 10" and weigh 262. My goal is 149, although I'll be really happy to hit a healthy range BMI at 162.5. I will start the pre-op diet on 9/8. I am looking forward to walking like you, but right now I am way out of shape! This weight has literally been weighing me down to a pretty sedentary life. I'm looking forward to unzipping my fat suit and feeling energetic and healthy! What is your goal weight?
  13. Congratulations on your decision! My surgery is scheduled for 9/22. I'm currently doing all the tests. Each one isn't so bad, but the total amount of appointments gets overwhelming. Just taking one day at a time. My sister had her sleeve in December. She has met her goal, and couldn't be happier. I'm so happy for her and proud of her. She is my inspiration! Best of luck.
  14. Great workout. Sounds like you are doing really well!
  15. So exciting! Congratulations on your weight loss! 78 lbs is amazing!
  16. My doctor told me I should be at 149 according to the Metropolitan Insurance tables. If I want my healthy BMI tone at 24 or 25, I need to weigh 167.5. I know I'm happiest T 170. I currently weigh 262. Just google your height and it will tell your healthy weight range.
  17. Weight training is best, but depending on your age, your skin should mostly adjust to your new body size. The younger you are the more skin elasticity. Not so lucky as we age. But what's a little loose skin amount friends. You'll be feeling so good I'd venture to guess you won't care. Hang in there!
  18. I'll start mine on 9/6. I'm super excited! I have all kinds of Water retention right now, swollen ankles and feet, and can't wait for the diet. It will be great reading about your journey to learn what to expect. I agree with the other posts. My fitness Pal is a great app. Good luck!
  19. Hi! I'm 54, married and have one son. He is 20 and the light of my life! I have 2 yellow labs who are like my furry daughters. My husband and I have been married 25 years next July, do we are going to France to celebrate! I'm an executive in Human Resources and love my work. I used to be an avid Water person until I gained so much weight. I'm looking forward to surfing, water skiing and windsurfing once my 100 lb anchor is gone! I have 2 sisters whom I adore, and 2 brothers I love very much. My younger sister had a gastric sleeve about 8 months ago and has reached her goal weight! She is my inspiration. God bless!
  20. Congrats! My date is 9/22. My sister had a gastric sleeve 8 months ago and has met her goal weight! She is running, standup paddle boarding and living her life. Since I have so closely watched her journey I know what to expect. Have you been approved by your insurance yet? I'm waiting to hear. Right now it's all the doc appointments. Tonight I'm having a sleep study that I am anxious about. I'm nervous about insurance too. Feeling very hopeful.
  21. Hi! I'm new to this forum. I will be having a gastric sleeve on 9/22. I'm currently going through all the tests prepping. Tonight I'm going to have a sleep study. I just keep checking off the appointments and getting excited as the date is closer every day!
