I had surgery with Dr. Alejandro Lopez in Puerto Vallarta (Specialized Bariatrics) on August 13th. He and his team were wonderful, the hospital was maybe the cleanest building I've ever seen. The nurses were super attentive. The hotel was beautiful. The aftercare was great. The past 3 1/2 weeks have gone pretty much "text book" for me. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Lopez.

I heard from AnaKaren, the patient Coordinator for Dr. Lopez. Dr. Leo will be meeting me and my sister at the airport when we arrive on Tuesday afternoon. I packed chicken broth packets as well as a small bottle of Crystal light drops. Also, gauze, bandages, antibiotic ointment. Thanks for the Walmart tip! :-)

I feel for everyone. I've told a few close friends, my boss, my sister (who's accompanying me to Mexico) and my husband, who's been FREAKING out since I told him I was having the surgery in April. He's only started to get better the last week or so because he knows I won't change my mind. Jeez, I'm the one who's been struggling with this issue my entire adult life, not him. AND I've been on so many diet and fitness regimens, I've lost count! I even became an aerobics instructor. It's not that I don't work at fitness. I just need the help. I'm determined to leverage thus surgery to help me get back to ME. I'm definitely nervous about surgery on the 13th, but I'm so happy, too! I really feel a new sense of clarity about my future. So glad I found this website. :-) Good luck, everyone!

Patricia-- Did you bring lots of supplies with you? I already started packing my little suitcase with 3 kinds of gauze, two kinds of tape, chicken broth packets, Vitamin Water, liquid Crystal light. Did you bring all that with you? Anything else? My sister is coming with me, but I still want to have everything I need. May I also ask if you were with/met other patients of Dr. Lopez's? Was your surgery in the morning? Sorry for all the questions! Hope you're feeling better and better!

Patricia, I'm so happy to hear you're doing well. Thank you so much for the update. I'm sending healing thoughts your way and wishing you great success. I'm so excited for you! And I must say that your positive words come my nerves down a little bit. Just a little over one week for me.

Hi! My surgery date is 8/13 in Puerto Vallarta. Excited and nervous. Cleaning, getting things in order at work. Packing my hospital bag. Can't wait! Sending best wishes to all August sleevers!
