  1. That's awesome congrats to you!!! I hope to have the same success 6 months from now. My surgery is scheduled for 9/15. Did you exercise often?
  2. Congrats to you! ! Happy everything went well with your surgery. Praying that you have a speedy recovery!! Hope the gas pains subside soon
  3. It is very good that you are concerned about your friend. I am still pre-op and am scheduled to have surgery on 9/15. After getting "sleeved" it us very hard for a person to get in enough of the recommended protein wand ter intake. It is very important for her to make sure she gets in enough water because without the water intake she is at risk for becoming dehydrated which will land her back in the hospital. Every surgeon is different buy most recommend you get at least 600-800 calories a day and might even work up to 1000. Because her stomach is a lot smaller now it's not as easy to take in a lot of food. I don't think she has an eating disorder. As a lot of people who are post op says it's hard to eat. You become very forgetful because you don't have the urge to eat it's like you have to force yourself to do so. In my opinion you should just tell her how you feel. Ask her what her surgeon and nutritionists think about her intake and about the amount of exercise she is doing..she might be very appreciative to the fact that you are concerned about her health. .good luck to you
  4. Hello..@@konalisa80 my surgery is set for next Monday 9/15. Congrats to you on your surgery. Is the shoulder pain from the air that they put into your belly during surgery? Is it a tolerable pain or are you still taking pain meds?
  5. I personally don't have pcos, but I have read other people's topics that have it and they say the insurance considers it a co-morbidity
  6. Did you order the Syntrax Nectar? If so that is the one that I have been using. I am still pre-op my surgery isn't for another week 9/15, but I tried a couple other proteins and the nectar protein is what works for me. I like how it only has protein. (23 grams of protein per 1 scoop) And you can mix it with either water or almond milk. Water gives it a thinner texture. The only thing i am worried about is that some people say the protein shakes that were working for them before surgery don't work for them now. So i hope my taste buds still agree with it afterwards. I also hear others like the premier agreed unjury as well
  7. My surgery is 9/15..and I too am also scared about a leak. Well shoot let's be honest the closer it comes I'm getting nervous about everything. Some surgeons put extra stitches over the staples and do a leak test the next day. But don't worry they check all that before they close you up
  8. I'm still in pre-op. My surgery is 9/15 I like the syntrax nectar. .it is really good and is ALL protein. One scoop carries 23 grams of protein.
  9. Wow..sorry for your bad consultation. That has to such especially putting $250 into it. In my personal opinion it is very natural for you to have so many questions especially be a use its you who has to go through all the changes. It doesn't at terms how much research you do before hand you will always have questions and the doctor should expect that. I think it is very inconsiderate of him to rush you like that. I understand he has other patients but every patient should be left feeling some kind of security in their surgeon. In my honest opinion I would seek elsewhere. Especially if you are paying out of pocket you are paying a lot of money and deserve the best care. Good luck on your journey. Wishing you all the best
  10. Hi..congrats on your surgery!!! We're u in a lot of pain after wards? My surgery is in September 15th and I'm trying to physically prepare myself for it..lol
  11. Congrats to you!!!! It will be here before you know it! !!
  12. Congrats to you!!!..my surgery is also September 15th
  13. Welcome!!! I started my journey on July 3rd,2014..my insurance only required me to do labs, nutrition seminar and a psych evaluation. I'm all done with those things and in August 28th I received my approval from my insurance. It actually only took me 2 days to get my approval. The longest waiting time was my surgeons office receiving my psych evaluation which was about a week and a half. I had to keep calling them and then we found out that the psych office had the wrong fax number..lol..but if u end up waiting for too long I would greatly encourage u to continue calling them and stay in them about it. My surgery date is 9/15...good luck to you on your journey
  14. That's awesome..congrats to you!!!
  15. I would call CIGNA directly and see what the "pre-existing" thing is. Hopefully your surgeons office will help you get your approval. Good luck to you
  16. Welcome, I know the waiting process is the longest. I waited for about a week before I got a response. My surgery date is 9/15..good luck to you
  17. Thanks for sharing your story. It's amazing at how far you've come. I read your story and know that there is life after surgery. I'm scheduled for 9/15/14..and get nervous because it's my first surgery and the idea of going under freaks me out a little bit
  18. In my opinion I would go the insurance way. It will save you a lot of money. Especially since it's $375.00. It seems like it's a longer waiting period but to me I would go that route. Good luck to you on your journey
  19. Praying that you have a safe and successful surgery. And a speedy recovery..good luck to you
  20. My surgery is schedules for 9/15/14 and I am so scared and nervous. I feel like an emotional roller coaster because one minute I am very excited and then when I think too much into it them I start getting scared again..lol..I think it's a natural feeling though. I also think it's because it's my first surgery ever. But I've done a lot of research and I know this is what I need to get my life back. good luck to u
  21. I'm scheduled for surgery on September 15th..my surgeon told me at least 10 days
  22. Same here!!!!..it is right around the corner..can't wait..super excited
  23. I believe it's normal. Everybody is different. Keep up the good work
  24. I am also having surgery in September 15. It's exciting right?!..I start pre-op tomorrow on the first. Protein shakes in the morning and after noon and 1 once of high protein meat and green vegetable for dinner. Then the week before full liquid diet. Good luck to you and watch for the grazing..I do it also its a bad habit.
  25. Congrats in your weight loss so gar. I am getting sleeved on 9/15/14. All I can say to y is feeling nervous/second guessing your decision is normal. I myself can't tell you how many times I have second guess my decision or thought about if I can loose the weight on my own in a supervised diet then I don't need surgery. But what it comes down to is that I have trouble keeping it off which reminds me that that is why I am here and chose wls. You can do this. All the thoughts and emotions you are going through are natural. But keep up with the good work
