My BMI was 39 so I needed two more conditions. I have high blood pressure and acids reflux. So if you have a BMI of 40 or over you should be good to go. I am almost sure. Everyone case is different.

Hi! That would be if you have hight blood pressure, if you are diabetic, sleep apnea...that would deem you medically necessary. I hope that helps. Laurie

I also have bc/bs IL and all I needed was a all clear from my primary Dr. And my Cardiologist and a psychiatric report. Of course my primary took exrays of my chest and blood word and my cardiologist took the necessary test that he needed to clear me. That's it! I talked to my patient advocate to make sure that I did not need anything else, she said no and told me that BCBS IL pretty good. So all I am waiting on is the psychiatric report and then then they will turn it in. Hope that helps

Hi! My name is Laurie I started my journey back in August. I am now waiting on the last Dr. To send his report in so we can turn it into the ins. Company. Little aggravated because my appointment was September 16 and as of yesterday he still has not sent the report in. I was hoping to have my surgery mid October. I will call again on Monday to see if he can get the report out. Have a great night all

I wanted a sleeve, but insurance won't pay for that so I spoke with my Dr. And they said bypass this the golden rule that all other surgeries take off from. So! ????

I finished all my dr. App. today! Just Waiting on the Dr. Today to turn in my approval papers. Hope it's mid October for my surgery.
